Senior Software Engineer - Devops

About The Role:
As Nasi Goreng is to the people of Indonesia, engineers are to GoTo Financial: sustaining and nourishing the longevity of our business from the inside out. As our Data Science Engineer, you'll be an integral player within the Data Science Engineering team. You'll ensure our Data Scientists in the various GoToFinancial sub-teams have all the resources they require to achieve their goals. You’ll employ your stellar software engineering skills and expertise in the infrastructure operations field in efforts to productionize their processes. Your work will directly influence the performance of our Machine Learning and Data Science models throughout the company and help in taking data oriented decisions in different interests of business growth, risk etc.

What you will do

• Write great quality, scalable, and maintainable code
• Manage data science infrastructure to streamline model development and deployment.
• Build or setup tooling for feature engineering for near real-time models.
• Monitor and provide support to infrastructure and production models
• Mentor team members by conducting code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Containerisation and deployment of microservices on Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with the data science team and business teams to understand their requirements

What you will need

• At least 3-6 years of relevant devops engineering experience with solid Computer Science fundamentals
• Experience working in IAC tools like Terraform and Ansible
• Good understanding of containerisation, Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in any one of the programming languages Golang, Java or python.
• Experience in distributed systems, and backend systems engineering.
• Solid understanding of distributed system fundamentals and ability to troubleshoot issues in a larger distributed infrastructure, including concepts from unit-level (e.g. operating system, resources management) to systems level (e.g. networking, observability, high-availability).
• All professional experience within a Linux / Unix environment
• Strong analytical skills, the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, meticulous attention to detail, self-motivation, adaptability, and a strong sense of ownership
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

About The Team:
Our Data Science Engineering team is a group of talented data scientists and software engineers stationed in Bangalore and Jakarta. Enabling data science teams for the next 100 million GoTo users is our top priority; our efforts will build the confidence of users in the GoTo ecosystem. By doing this we impact different business verticals across the whole GoTo ecosystem like growth, risk management etc. We work and collaborate with different teams (DevOps, Data Engineering, Product Engineering, Data Science etc) across the GoTo ecosystem to build the most reliable and feature rich platform for GoTo financial data scientists. 
Most recently, our team worked on a model to detect ATO using different technologies like distributed graphs, Kafka, Postgres and XGboost data science models. Currently we are working with the data science team on the next iteration of the ATO Detection model for feature engineering using billions of data points in near real time. 
We’re a high-performing, tight-knit team who are committed to the safety and growth of the company, as well as each other’s personal growth and wellbeing. We also have weekly showcase sessions where we present our latest tool we are using and product we are building.
