Wright-Pierce has an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst based in our Portland Maine office. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement data analytics solutions that support both business operations and engineering projects. We are looking to leverage data-driven insights to drive our strategic decisions and innovation. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to enhance decision-making and optimize business and engineering outcomes through data-centric intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and implement data cleansing processes.
  • Utilize statistical methods and tools to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable plans and effectively communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Remain informed with the newest advancements in data analysis techniques and tools.

Essential Functions

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL Python, R, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the civil and environmental engineering industry or with a professional services firm.
  • Experience in managing large datasets and working with structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
