Data Architect - Data Marketplace

Brenntag is undergoing a group-wide transformation to deliver profitable organic growth and sustained group efficiencies. Data & Analytics is a key pillar which will allow us to ‘liberate’ our data and thus improve our decision-making and AI capabilities at speed (Data Marketplace).

We are looking for talented, self-starters with a passion for analytics to join our growing team. As an Data Architect – Data Marketplace within the Data & Analytics team, you will responsible to define and socialise the domain, goal and reference data architecture for the data marketplace. Main subjects of this function are: data architecture (principles, guidelines and standards), data quality management, data modelling and metadata management.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

• Contribute to and share the enterprise wide conceptual, subject area and logical data models for the Data Marketplace to help Brenntag business and D&A Product Teams understand our data.
• Help Brenntag business and D&A Product Teams understand the flow of data through the organisation and their systems for the data marketplace.
• Define and own the Data & Analytics data architecture within the guidelines set by security, privacy, data governance, enterprise architecture, data architecture and business requirements for the Data Marketplace.
• Understand, socialise and guide new initiatives from the data architecture perspective within the D&A Domain.
• Lead and develop the solution and data architecture within the D&A Domain, collaborating closely with Product Owners and solution architects overseeing the architecture for all the D&A initiatives.
• Provide architectural design for D&A and contribute to the roadmap, leveraging expertise in defined reference architectures, technology trends, and implementation experience to translate business needs into comprehensive solution blueprints.
• Assess organizational and financial impacts of solution architecture in collaboration with regional teams, identifying implications for skills, processes, structures, and culture.
• Define guidelines, standards, and solution architecture to ensure alignment of product-based decisions with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.

Ideal profile

We are looking for a enthusiastic senior data architects for the commercial and supply chain domain with the following characteristics.

• Good understanding of Data & architecture frameworks like DMBOK or TOGAF, data modelling, data quality, data flows and thorough understanding of data mesh principles and Analytics.
• 5+ years of experience as an data architect within a international environment.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Data Bricks, Business Data catalog (e.g. Collibra / Informatica or Atlation) and Data Quality tools.
• Experience with SAP & Data Marketplaces.
• Excellent communication skills (English): Both written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Enthusiasm and adaptability: A willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to the evolving needs of the team.
• Knows how to facilitate workshop with business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Supply Chain and/or Commercial domain is a plus.
• Hands-on Experience with AWS is a plus.
• Proficient verbal and written English
