Senior Finance Data Analyst - Contractor

Job Description:

The Senior Financial Data  Analyst - Contractor will play a critical role in supporting financial planning and analysis (FP&A) through advanced data analytics and financial modeling, while also serving as a co-administrator for Workday Financials. This individual will be responsible for optimizing financial data processes, generating insights to drive business decisions, and managing system enhancements to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and data visualization tools to support business decision-making.
• Extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets from multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and Business Unit leaders to deliver meaningful financial insights and KPI reporting.
• Automate financial reporting and forecasting processes, leveraging Workday and other BI tools.
• Support the administration, configuration, and optimization of Workday Financials, including reporting, security roles, and business processes.
• Work closely with IT and Finance teams to troubleshoot system issues, implement enhancements, and manage system updates.
• Develop and maintain custom reports and dashboards within Workday to support Assist with system testing, training, and documentation for finance users
• Partner with the FP&A team to enhance budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis capabilities.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation solutions to drive efficiency in financial operations.
• Ensure data integrity and governance across financial systems and reports.
• Assist in preparing management reports, board presentations, and investor materials.

BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in FP&A, financial data analytics, or financial systems administration.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard creation, data modeling, and DAX functions.
• Strong proficiency in data analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, or similar).
• Knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting best practices.
• Experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, and automation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong background in mathematics, statistics, or quantitative finance.
• MBA in Mathematics is highly desired.
• Experience in medical technology, healthcare, or life sciences industries.
• Workday certification in Financials or Reporting.
• Experience with SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Expertise in predictive analytics and advanced financial modeling techniques.
