Location

Airbus Protect regular place of work is Hamburg near the largest German production site for civil aircraft situated in Finkenwerder. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Within the scope of your duties, you will be deployed at the Airbus Commercial  location in Bremen after your start at Airbus Protect in Hamburg until the end of the operational requirements. After your return, you will be deployed at your regular place of work.

The successful candidate will join the Airbus Protect testing team within the Sustainability Business Unit. We support our clients’ resilience and readiness for the future through our knowledge of industrial processes, products and infrastructure, fostering:

Task and responsilities

• Testing and quality assurance of hardware and software systems

• Creating and executing tests, identifying and reporting errors, and verifying system functionality

• Participation in the execution of system tests

• Participation in determining and improving the maturity of aircraft systems through testing in collaboration with other development teams

• Participation in the definition and implementation of new working methods within the MBSE approach

• Participation in the implementation of new test methods such as virtual testing and test automation using new methods and tools

• Reproduction of events on avionics test benches to support investigations during operation

• Support certification through integrated testing and analysis

• Definition and validation of test benches, agreement on laboratory test requirements

• Analysis of test data and preparation of laboratory test results

• Preparation of the required documentation and presentation of the work results

Required qualifications

The job requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of ​​Aeronautic, Mechnical, Electrical Engineering or comparable courses of study and related subject-specific additional qualifications or completed vocational training with a corresponding particularly extensive subject-specific additional qualification. The total required knowledge and experience may have been acquired in other ways.​

Desired skills and competences

• Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility

• Knowledge and experience in system testing

• Profound knowledge on flight control surfaces

• Knowledge and experience of analyzing data

• Validation and Verification process knowledge (V&V)

• Experience in Python coding, Simulink/MATLAB (data science is a plus)

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Team player, organized and autonomous person with good communication skills

• Language skills: German and English at negotiation level

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
