In this role the candidate will be working with Test Engineers, Operations and Test Equipment Engineering to develop data analytics solutions to gain insights on test data, allowing for real time, proactive identification of failures or test equipment issues.  This role will have a heavy focus on using the NI SystemLink platform for collecting data and developing visual dashboards for tracking key metrics using Grafana.  The role involves designing and implementing data solutions, primarily using Python, with Java as a secondary language.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.  This position is on site in Andover in the Production Test Engineering organization.

What You Will Do

  • Work with the Digital Technology team to deploy NI SystemLink across critical manufacturing test equipment in both unclassified and classified environments and provide sustainment support for connected assets

  • Develop and implement data analytics strategies to analyze test data and deliver actionable insights

  • Design, develop, and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and test processes

  • Create and optimize data visualization tools and dashboards to present test data findings clearly and effectively

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through continuous monitoring and validation processes

  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in test data to recommend solutions for performance improvements

  • Automate data collection and analysis processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual efforts

  • Provide technical support and expertise in data analytics to project teams and stakeholders

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data analytics, tools, and technologies relevant to the aerospace and defense industry

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience and 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and 5 years related experience

  • Experience with factory test equipment and data analytics

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.

  • Strong understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Grafana)

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with lean principles in a manufacturing environment 

  • Experience with NI tools and software

  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization techniques

  • Knowledge of data integration and automation

  • Current DOD Secret Security Clearance

  • Strong engineering aptitude and analytical skills

  • Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
