Overview

The Princeton Precision Health Initiative at Princeton University seeks a Research Project Manager / Coordinator to provide key expertise and support for the research endeavors at the Initiative. The position will serve multiple roles: 1) by serving as a research project facilitator/manager through working with data scientists and other PPH researchers to coordinate projects, 2) and as an “on demand” statistical and data analyst. The position will require candidates with backgrounds in computational biology, statistics, data science, epidemiology, computer science, machine learning, and/or other quantitative fields. The position requires the ability to learn and work independently, with meticulous attention to detail. They must also be able to multi-task and prioritize appropriately to effectively coordinate multiple projects. A master's level of training and understanding of these cutting edge quantitative methods is required, and ideally, there will be some practical experience through employment or internships with deploying these methods in a variety of ways.

Responsibilities

Specific duties include:

-Providing statistical and other types of data analyses across a variety of data types, applications, and projects.

- Reading scientific literature and obtaining necessary background for specific projects.

- Independently learning about data modalities and datasets as needed.

- Getting familiar with computational methodology and pipelines to analyze such data.

- Implementing or adopting these computational methods and applying them to analyze and visualize data.

- Regularly discussing progress with collaborators within and outside Princeton Precision Health.

- Preparing figures, presentations, reports, publications with results.

- Coordinating and assisting with human subject enrollment.

- Collecting data from human subject participants via multiple modalities, including in-person and on the phone.

- Designing research surveys and experiments, which includes programming, developing, testing, and implementing online research projects.

- Collecting, processing, and analyzing data using R and/or Python.

- Providing other support and assistance as needed at a busy new initiative.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

• A master’s degree in a relevant field.

• Programming in R and/or Python.

• Practical experience with data analysis and visualization.

• Solid math and applied statistics background. 

• Scientific research experience.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to carry out work and prioritize time independently.

• Strong attention to detail.

 

Preferred Qualification:

 

• Experience specifically in computational biology, biological or health data analysis.
