We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a Geospatial Data Specialist to support our client, Indian Health Service (IHS) within the Department of Health and Human Services branch, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEHE). As a member of the GIS team the candidate will upgrade, establish tools, and maintain the Utility Data’s interoperability. The Candidate must have a thorough understanding of GIS utility data and established best practices for the ingestion of AutoCAD and as-built data. This is a remote opportunity with anticipated travel to Seattle, Washington as requested by the client.

 
Responsibilities:
•    Design, implement, and maintain GIS databases (SQL, Oracle) and systems to support utility operations.
•    Develop and manage spatial data models and workflows specific to water, wastewater and solid waste networks.
•    Establish and maintain end user tools and applications in Esri’s Portal environment such as Survey123, Field Maps, Dashboards, Experience Builder.
•    Perform complex spatial analysis and modeling to support infrastructure planning, asset management, and operational efficiency.
•    Troubleshoot GIS system issues and provide technical support.
•    Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in GIS and utility interoperability.

The following are requirements of the Geospatial Data Specialist:
•    US Citizen.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Geography/GIS, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
•    At least 3-5 years’ experience with ArcGIS Pro for managing geospatial data, generating cartographic products, and performing spatial analysis.
•    Experience with GIS software and enterprise geodatabases (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise).
•    Knowledge of data integration techniques and tools (e.g., ETL processes, APIs).
•    Familiarity with water and wastewater utility infrastructure and operations.
•    Experience with utility interoperability standards and best practices (Esri Utility Network, PODS).
•    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
•    Desire to take initiative and proactively solve complex problems.

The following are desired capabilities and experience of the Geospatial Data Specialist:
•    Specific experience working with geospatial data related to water, wastewater, and/or solid waste utilities infrastructure (e.g., pipelines, collection networks, treatment plants, disposal sites).
•    Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python for GIS automation.
•    Experience with web GIS development (e.g., ArcGIS API for JavaScript).
•    Ability to read and understand AutoCAD and as-built data (AutoCad Civil 3D, Revit)
•    Applied skills with publishing and maintaining web services within Esri’s Enterprise Portal.
