About the role

The Business Data Analyst – Revenue at Auctane will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position focuses on revenue analytics, working closely with the Finance and Strategy teams to develop robust reporting, uncover business trends, and drive strategic insights. Additionally, the analyst will help strengthen Auctane’s data assets and analytical capabilities through cross-functional collaboration and thought leadership.

About the team

The Analytics team supports key business decision making through the delivery of actionable insights based on accurate data to stakeholders across the Auctane e-commerce products. These responsibilities are delivered through close collaboration with internal teams, working on the definition & refinement of the KPIs, setting goals against these KPIs, measuring performance against these goals and recommending (and when applicable, implementing) actions to drive improved performance. In addition, the Analytics team leads the delivery of both standardized & ad-hoc reporting, analysis & insights to drive business decisions.

What will you be doing?

• Partner with Finance to deliver accurate revenue analysis, forecasting support, and performance insights that drive strategic decision-making.

• Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable, data-driven solutions while ensuring alignment and clear communication across teams.

• Design, develop, and maintain reporting systems and dashboards—ranging from tactical to executive-level—to support data-driven decision-making across Auctane’s brands.

• Define, implement, and manage data feeds from internal systems and external partners to ensure high-quality, consistent data pipelines that support KPI tracking and business performance measurement.

• Work with large, complex datasets and lead or contribute to all phases of analytic work, from problem definition to actionable insights and result representation. 

• Champion adoption of Auctane’s reporting tools by creating impactful reports, providing training, and evangelizing best practices across teams.

• Promote adoption of analytics tools by delivering impactful reports, providing user support and training, and advocating for best practices in reporting and data visualization.

• Apply a strategic mindset to simplify complex challenges through innovative, scalable analytics solutions tailored to evolving business needs.

What are we looking for?

• Four or more (4+) years experience in data-driven environments with an expert knowledge of SQL and translating complex datasets into clear business insights.

• Two or more (2+) years of experience in data analytics roles, with a focus on revenue, financial analysis, or supporting Finance teams.

• Experience designing and creating dashboards for use by Executives and Analysts.

• Strong eye for detail and a passion for quickly delivering results for rapid action.

• Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, consensus-oriented environment.

• Excellent written, verbal, scientific communication and time management skills.

• Data visualization and storytelling: ability to turn complex data into clear insights.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience, as well as the ability to design and deploy clear reporting assets.

• Ability to work cross functionally to collaboratively understand and deliver on business needs.

• English fluency is required

• Strong track record of learning new tools, technologies, and frameworks.

• Experience with version control tools such as GitHub for collaborative analytics development.

The tech stack

• Looker (incl. LookML): advanced proficiency in developing dashboards, explores, and custom views.
• SQL (BigQuery): strong proficiency in querying large-scale databases.
• DBT (Cloud): experience building and maintaining data models and transformations. 
• Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
