Application Architect (CA/US)

Overview

Are you a seasoned Application Architect with a passion for designing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions? Adastra is looking for an expert to lead the architecture of cloud-based portals built on Microsoft Azure. You’ll play a key role in shaping the design and integration of technologies like .NET Core, React/Blazor, and Power BI, ensuring seamless, secure solutions that meet both internal and external user needs. 

Location: Across Canada and the United States (Remote)  

Status: Contract (CA: inc. | US: 1099)   

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of cloud-based portals using Microsoft Azure and technologies like .NET Core, React/Blazor
• Architect secure authentication and authorization flows using Azure Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), adhering to best practices
• Design integration strategies for securely embedding Power BI reports using the Power BI Embed API
• Define and enforce back-end (.NET Core/Framework) and front-end (React/Blazor) architecture, design standards, and coding best practices
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure architectural designs are implemented correctly
• Select appropriate Azure services for hosting, scaling, securing, and monitoring cloud portals
• Define security models, including role-based access control (RBAC) and multi-tenant strategies
• Create detailed architectural documents, API contracts, and integration specifications
• Guide DevOps and CI/CD strategies to enable continuous deployment to Azure

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in application architecture and full-stack development, specifically with .NET Core and React/Blazor
• Expertise in designing and architecting cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure
• In-depth knowledge of Azure Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) and implementing secure authentication and authorization flows
• Proven experience integrating Power BI reports using the Power BI Embed API
• Ability to define and implement role-based access control (RBAC) and multi-tenant architecture
• Experience in creating comprehensive architecture documentation, including API contracts and integration specifications
• Proficiency in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Azure
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to work across teams to ensure implementation aligns with architectural goals

Nice to Have:

• Experience architecting multi-tenant SaaS applications
• Experience with Power BI integration for both internal and external users
• Knowledge of advanced Azure services for scaling, monitoring, and securing applications
