The Imaging Algorithm Development Engineer is a member of the Imaging and Detection team at Analogic Security. This team member will support multiple ongoing development projects in image processing, algorithms, AI, and related security imaging areas. The team member will collaborate with other team members with various backgrounds to effectively solve technical challenges. Will complete focused activities in support of research topics and products in field and in development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for image processing and detection specifically for security applications
  • Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and efficiency for use in security screening products
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and security experts
  • Research and document algorithm development and implementation processes, maintaining a knowledge of current state of the art in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning areas
  • Represent Analogic in interactions with government and regulator customers and internal management reviews

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Competencies Requirements:

  • Degree in technical field (Engineering, Physics, Computer Science) with 0-8 years desired combined academic and work experience in related technical fields
  • Experience with programming languages and applications such as: Python, C/C++, Java, Matlab, TensorFlow
  • Experience in supporting and completing technical projects
  • Currently hold or eligible to complete a US Government vetting to work on security projects (must be a US citizen). 
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Up to 20% travel may be required to regulator sites, airports and other potential sites for development activities.

Physical Requirements: 

  • The position will be located in an office environment.
  • The team member may be required to support evaluation of baggage screening systems involving occasional lifting of luggage items in a lab environment.
