As the Built Environment Operational Data Manager, your primary purpose is to act as the custodian of all BE Asset Data held in the Asset Management System. Positioned within the BE Operational Compliance Team you will be responsible for complete / correct asset data and analytics to the BE Asset Performance teams to inform work streams and investment. Additionally, as a BE Operational Data Manager you will be agreeing asset data quality targets and ensuring accurate provision of information to the BE team.

 

You will be the problem solver for one of the biggest organisations within the public sector and responsible for managing the APD Built Environment team asset data improvements via the Asset Management System (Maximo) to improve asset data quality / completeness and the functional requirements to be data driven and planning led.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for all BE Data held in the Asset Management System and other Data Repositories relevant to AP inclusive of Data Quality (Completeness / Correctness).
  • Superseding Assets Records and Associated Drawings with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure complete and correct asset information enabling TfL to meet its statutory requirements. 
  • Creating workflows and developing processes to enable the auditing of Asset Data and Asset Data Quality.
  • Undertaking internal audits of asset data and data quality including supporting information to ensure data and records are fit for operational use.
  • Analyse, interpret and utilise BE Data in the AMS, inclusive of the Asset Registration to enable the associated Inspection Programme(s), cascade of data into relevant ACR(s) and Work Banks.
  • Responsible for representing BE in the AMIS delivery and the delivery of workstreams with relevant asset areas to support the AMIS delivery.
  • Review / accept Asset Handover Data information (ADMF/TLF447) relating to all introduced, renewed, refurbished, removed, disposed of assets in compliance with the relevant Industry Best Practice / Legislation / TfL Engineering Standards, Procedures and Guidance.
  • Provide data to enable the management and update of Asset Queries including reporting on progress and status to ensure accurate asset data.
  • Producing the BE Team Competency and Training Matrix(s), including reporting, to ensure via respective Line Managers that competence, training, and licenses are maintained.
  • Deputise for the Built Environment Operational Compliance Manager as required to cover day to day business requirements.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

 

Knowledge:

  • Academic - A relevant degree / HND / HNC with a main focus in a highly analytical/quantitative discipline (Engineering / Data Science / Computer Science or similar) (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of data structures and experience of working with large datasets within an enterprise context (Desirable).
  • In depth working knowledge of Asset Management Systems (Maximo) (Essential).
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Built Environment assets within competency area to TfL Standards / Procedures / Industry Best Practice (Essential).
  • Proven ability to solve business problems, handle conflicts, anticipate issues/concerns, troubleshoot issues, and proactively institute creative solutions quickly and in detail (Essential).

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word and Powerpoint (Essential).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to challenge, influence and present to senior audiences (Essential).
  • Problem solving mindset and strong analytical skills (Essential).
  • Strong stakeholder relationship and interpersonal skills (Essential).
  • Excellent data visualisation, presentation and report writing skills (Essential).
  • Demonstrable ability to maintain update knowledge through formal and self directed learning (Essential).

 

Experience:

  • Practical experience of use data analysis tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problems (Desirable).
  • Experience of working in an operational / maintenance area (Desirable).
  • Experience of working with cross functional departments, at customer facing and management levels (Essential).
  • Experience in identifying and delivering process improvements (Desirable).
  • Experience of producing data visualisations, presentations and reports to track operational performance (Essential).
