Responsibilities
Perform Research and Development (R&D) of Machine Learning (ML) systems, including heterogeneous computing architecture, management, monitoring, and deployment of the ML system, distributed task scheduling, ML training, ML inference, scenario driven, cross layer optimization of system and AI algorithms, hardware for ML including GPU, FPGA, and ASIC.
Perform R&D in speech and audio, multimodal processing (audio, vision, and text), natural language processing and deep learning.
Conduct cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing and human-computer interaction technology.
Conduct R&D of technologies on ML fairness and AI ethics for products, including ML interpretability, robustness, and privacy.
Perform theoretical analysis on ML-based models and conduct large-scale simulations and verify the correctness and practicability of proposed models.
Participate in developing core systems and algorithms.
Draft technical contributions, patent applications and academic papers.
Mentor junior research scientists and interns.

Qualifications

Qualifications
Must have a PhD or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:
Prototyping and developing machine learning and natural language processing models;
Researching methods for image and video generation to influence the development and optimization of generative models;
Developing and implementing generative neural networks for image/video generation and editing;
Collecting and analyzing large-scale datasets, including image, video, audio, and text to design ML models from the dataset using Python, Go, SQL, or PyTorch;
Designing and implementing ML models and ML algorithms and deploy them in real production environments, including mobile devices and web servers, using Python, C/C++, PyTorch, TensorRT, or ONNX; and
Analyzing deep neural networks’ prediction uncertainty (prediction variation), and developing efficient prediction uncertainty estimation algorithm for the deep neural networks using Python or TensorFlow.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $224682 - $355000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).​
