About this Position
The Data Analyst will be responsible for learning the business process and data related to transactions and key performance indicators, the development of compiling appropriate data to perform analysis and effective reports, visuals and dashboards. Identify and analyze data to determine trends, make meaningful observations and draw conclusions. Solve complex problems, research requests and derive solutions. Lead meetings to gather requirements and present findings, and drive resolution. The Data Analyst will act as a resource for colleagues with less experiences. Interface with multiple teams and departments across the organization and third parties.This is a hybrid position.
The estimated salary range for this position is 110K - 120K
(salary commensurate with experience)
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Data Requests - Lead assigned data related initiatives: including requirements gathering meetings, analysis of requirements and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Write advance queries (pulling from multiple tables, calculations, using sub queries, different systems, etc.) using SQL, MS Access, MS Excel, R, Python or other tools.
- Research issues across multiple platforms to determine the root cause and identify solutions to overcome the issue.
- Establish relationships and partner with others to deliver as needed.
Report Generation, Analysis & Data Modelling - Develop effective analytical reports, charts, presentations, dashboards and timelines. Reporting could be used across the company, third-parties, and with all levels of management.
- Analyzing data to identify trends, business landscape, predictive analytics, and make meaningful and clear observations.
- Develop complex Power Bi Visuals and dashboards for both ad hoc reporting and ongoing use by management and other departments.
- Apply modeling software to create predictive analytics in support of department objectives.
Data Validation - Analyze and identify discrepancies within data sets/data lakes and identify solutions.
- Ensure data qualify, accuracy and timely processing.
- Maintain review and/or analyze data files, tables, and reports for inconsistencies.
- Perform detailed analysis on results and effectively summarize findings.
Data Presentation - Present data and provide recommendations to department leadership for their use in making operational decisions, identifying process improvements, and developing policy development to support change initiatives.
- Design, develop, and maintain statistical reports as needed on a daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc basis for all levels of management.
- Formulate, develop and implement changes to improve process efficiencies, including using automation tools.
New Development Opportunities - Assist in the design, structure, data needs to build out data lakes and other data tools.
- Utilize existing and new data in ways to better meet Home Office, the field and clients needs more effectively.
- Assist in building POCs. This would include providing the logic and/or working with IT to build necessary APIs.

- Mentor and guide other teammates by answering questions, offering guidance and direction, and training less experienced analysts.
- Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analysis, Data Science, or related field preferred or related field
- 3-5 years Data Analyst experience preferred
- Database Management Software (WinSQL, WebQMF, dbeaver, or equivalent)
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
- Confluence / SQL and Database experience
- Power BI
- Requires in-depth knowledge of data gathering techniques
- Ability to combine data, perform complex analysis, and present findings in a logical, meaningful way.
- Works independently, receives minimal guidance.
- Advanced knowledge of more advanced Excel features, such as pivot tables and charts
- Ability to construct complex formulas to present data
- Self motivated, forward thinking, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work independently with minimal direction from management
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Data Modeling Software (R or Python)
- Experience with Denodo and Impact+
- Experience in the Financial Services industry
- Extensive knowledge of the systems and processes of the department and business functions they support
