Associate Research Scientist Part-Time Non-Exempt (Michelmann Lab)

Description

The Michelmann lab at NYU is looking for an Associate Research Scientist Part Time Non-exempt with a keen interest in human episodic memory. This position represents an excellent opportunity to develop advanced research skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in data science and psychology, and experience working with large language models (for instance, LLM evaluation, embedding extraction, and text similarity metrics), natural language processing (NLP), and HPC computing. A technical background with Python, machine learning, and data preprocessing is preferred.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $28-$30/hr for 21 hours per week. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess robust analytical skills. They should ideally have a data science background and a keen interest in learning advanced analysis methods. The candidate should also thrive in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Preferred additional qualifications are: Large language models, natural language processing (NLP), and HPC computing. Technical background with Python, machine learning, and data preprocessing. Project leadership.  Basic experience with computational modeling of cognition.
