We are seeking a strategic and innovative Supply Chain ERP Data Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing our data strategy, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of data, and leveraging data analytics to drive business insights and decision-making and possess a deep understanding of data integrity and its crucial role in the deployment of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. This pivotal corporate-wide role will focus on cleansing and optimizing our existing master data, including product and cost hierarchy data, to ensure alignment with best practices and to prepare for future SAP upgrades. This role will lead a team of data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the current state of master data management processes across the organization, identifying gaps and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement a comprehensive strategy for cleansing, organizing, and maintaining product and cost hierarchy data on a corporate-wide level.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to establish standards and governance protocols for master data management throughout the organization.
- Ensure that all master data is accurate, consistent, and meets the data quality requirements necessary for effective machine learning and AI initiatives.
- Develop and implement data conversion strategies to facilitate seamless transitions for future SAP upgrades, minimizing risks and ensuring continuity across all departments.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices in master data management and the importance of clean data.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of new data management strategies and processes, making adjustments as necessary to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Advocate for a data-first culture within the organization, emphasizing the role of high-quality data in driving business decisions and technology initiatives.
In addition to the above, following strategic areas are key responsibilities of this role:
Data Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Promote best practices in data management, governance, and analytics. Work with industry experts to recommend best practices and tools to manage data quality, maintenance etc.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, providing guidance on data analysis, data engineering, and data science projects.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages continuous learning and professional development.
Data Governance and Quality:
- Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations
- Implement data quality monitoring processes and tools to identify and resolve data issues.
Analytics and Insights:
- Oversee the development of data models, dashboards, and reporting tools to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and deliver analytics solutions that support business objectives.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior leadership and various departments to understand their data requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
- Communicate complex data concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and effective manner.
Technology and Tools:
- Stay informed about emerging data technologies and trends. Evaluate and implement new tools and platforms that enhance data capabilities.
- Oversee data architecture and infrastructure to ensure that data is stored, processed, and accessed efficiently.
Project Support:
- Support major project initiatives to advance/upgrade our Enterprise systems such as ERP & OMP data structure & quality meets the minimum requirements. Electronic is expected to upgrade its current ERP systems and potentially modernize to the best available technology, first priority is to move to a standard platform across Electronics, then move to the best technology that meets our needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in master data management, data governance, and data quality initiatives, preferably in a large corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of the challenges and requirements associated with future SAP upgrades and the implications for master data.
- Proven experience with machine learning and AI applications, with a clear understanding of data requirements for these technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data challenges into actionable strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated leadership capabilities to influence and guide stakeholders across the organization, including senior management.
- Familiarity with data modeling and data architecture principles.
- Experience with data quality tools and techniques.
- 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field, with 5 years in a relevant leadership role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data strategies and governance frameworks.
