Job Description

Visa USA Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Data Scientist (multiple openings) in Atlanta, GA to:

  • Generate business insights based on big data, identify actionable recommendations, and communicate the findings to clients.
  • Build predictive, descriptive statistics models and customer profile models to help clients generate outcomes by understanding consumer behavior.
  • Use UNIX systems, Hadoop platform, and SQL/Python language to execute marketing and data analytics project on transactional data for clients.
  • Research market trends, business performance, industry context, and consumer behavior for clients.
  • Build interactive dashboard reports with tailored business metrics to help clients understand market trends and business performance.
  • Perform tasks on Research & Development, data governance, and data integrity checks.
  • Create and automate repeatable analyses and build reusable data assets to enable others to develop models.
  • Work under direct supervision to ensure project delivery within timelines and quality constraints.
  • Position reports to the Atlanta, Georgia office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a data scientist-related occupation.
  • Using macro, pivot table, and key Excel functions to analyze business and financial performance;
  • Using PowerPoint to create charts by synthesizing complex analysis into insights appropriate for a business audience;
  • Analyzing large datasets using programming language R, Python, SQL, and/or Spark;
  • Understanding code optimizations to derive meaningful insights;
  • Data visualization using R, Python, and/or Tableau, including appropriate chart selection to illustrate key information from data;
  • Building predictive and descriptive statistics models and customer profile models using machine learning toolkit, Jupyter Notebook, Python and/or Hadoop; and
  • Statistical modeling including regression, classification, clustering, and custom model development.

Additional Information

Worksite: Atlanta, GA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements:  This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $110,000.00 USD to $170,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
