Position Overview:

The Director of Marketing Analytics will lead our marketing analytics function and elevate our data-driven decision-making capabilities. This role is instrumental in shaping how we measure marketing performance, customer behavior, and campaign effectiveness. You will lead a team of marketing data analysts focused on large-scale data analysis and work cross-functionally with digital, brand, finance, and product teams. Your role will involve driving strategic direction, building advanced models, and influencing senior leadership with data-backed recommendations to drive growth, customer acquisition, and retention. As one of our first hires in the advanced analytics space, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape the future of analytics at Dutch Bros - helping to build the foundation for how we use data to drive impact across the business.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.), required

  • Master’s degree or PhD preferred, but not required

  • 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with 3+ years in a leadership role, required

  • Proven track record in marketing analytics, preferably in a retail or consumer-facing environment

  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis and experimental design

  • Expertise in SQL, Python, and/or R; familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)

  • Expertise working with large-scale datasets and modern data stacks (e.g. Snowflake, AWS, Databricks) 

  • Experience working in a high growth, consumer facing retail business preferred, but not required

Location Requirement: 

This role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

Lead Marketing Analytics Support:

  • Define and execute a roadmap for marketing analytics aligned with business goals and the evolving maturity of our data and analytics ecosystem

  • Act as a thought partner to marketing and finance leadership—helping to shape a data-driven culture and to establish a vision for how analytics supports strategic decision-making.

  • Provide analytic leadership across key marketing programs such as promotions, loyalty, personalization, and campaign measurement

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations which influence senior stakeholders and drive measurable outcomes

  • Leverage internal, external, and third-party data sources (e.g., consumer trends, market benchmarks, economic indicators) to answer key business questions and uncover new opportunities.

Deploy Advanced Analytics & Statistical Measurement Techniques:

  • Design and lead the implementation of scalable experimentation frameworks (e.g., A/B testing, incrementality testing) to evaluate marketing effectiveness.

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact use cases for advanced analytics and guide their implementation across various marketing channels and tactics.

  • Work with limited historical structure and documentation to create scalable best practices that will serve as the foundation for a growing analytics discipline.

  • Develop and deploy predictive models enabling proactive marketing decisions.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to design data-driven test-and-learn programs that build confidence in marketing investment decisions.

  • Bring a strong problem-solving mindset—using both structured and unstructured data to explore new ideas and answer complex business questions.

Lead and manage data analysts supporting the marketing function:

  • Hire, train, and develop a high performing team across technical and non-technical skillsets 

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages experimentation, learning, and accountability

  • Provide hands-on guidance in areas such as code development, modeling, analysis design, and storytelling with data

  • Promote a standard of excellence across all analytics outputs, ensuring quality, scalability, and reproducibility

  • Set annual goals and performance plans for team members, provide regular feedback, and support their growth through ongoing coaching and clear expectations.

  • Infuse your team with the same values and beliefs held by Dutch Bros, showcasing how analytics teams embody a people-led approach to business

Data Support & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with data engineering and IT partners as we build the foundational infrastructure to support modern analytics—bringing a clear voice on the needs of marketing analytics

  • Contribute to the design of scalable data models and pipelines that enable robust and flexible marketing analysis

  • Advocate for access to new and relevant data sources—internal and external—to unlock broader business understanding

  • Work closely with peers across the organization to support self-service analytics, establish shared data definitions, and promote data literacy across teams

  • Champion a strong culture of data integrity, privacy, and governance—building trust in analytics through consistent, transparent practices

Physical Requirements:

  • In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions

    • Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings 

  • Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels

  • Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches.  Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds

  • Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.

  • Reading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.

  • Vision Requirements: Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.

  • Technology Proficiency: Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software. 

  • Effective Communication: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.

Compensation:

164,080.98 - DOE
