Our mission is to give everyone access to personalised healthcare.

Nearly three-quarters of the global population are affected by chronic disease (WHO), yet most healthcare innovation targets the wealthy - with concierge clinics, luxury wearables, and $1,000+ blood tests out of reach for most.

Human Health was founded by two ex-Canva product leaders, Kate and Georgia, to change that - making precision healthcare radically accessible for the 99%, not just biohackers or billionaires. Human helps people living with chronic conditions like ADHD, autoimmune disease, long COVID, anxiety, and rare illnesses track their health, build a full medical record, and get personalised insights - all while contributing to one of the world’s largest living datasets on chronic illness.

With over 150,000 users and fast-growing adoption, Human is turning real-world health data into research at scale - reshaping treatment pathways and accelerating medical breakthroughs for everyone.

We are looking to hire our first full-time Data Engineer. You will report to our Head of Customer and act as a generalist as you uplift our capabilities in the areas listed below. You will be T-shaped, with the ability and curiosity to work independently, but with support from the rest of the data and growth team.

What You’ll be doing

Core Responsibilities: You’ll be leading the work in these areas, building in our GCP environment

  • Build and maintain Near Real-Time (NRT) analytic event data integrations between our different platforms to support Product and Growth teams
  • Build and maintain NRT customer data fact and feature stores to power personalised decision making in-app and in marketing experiences
  • Work embedded within product feature teams to help shape the technical and design trade-offs required to deliver valuable data-driven personalised user features through the NRT data assets and services you’re building
  • Build and maintain offline data assets for business analytics, health research, and data science model development

Supporting Responsibilities
: You may be leading or supporting others in these areas, depending on your experience and interests

  • Build and maintain NRT machine learning and AI model scoring pipelines
  • Build and maintain Business Intelligence products, infrastructure, and dashboards

Requirements

You’ve had experience in most of these areas:

  • Building and operating production data pipelines powering software products
  • Building and maintaining data warehouse infrastructure and pipelines
  • Evaluating and implementing vendor tools for customer data management and communication including CRMs, CDP
  • Working within a product team where your goal was building user experiences, not just delivering on pre-determined technical requirements

You’re able to :

  • Develop in python and SQL
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with technical colleagues and leadership
  • Manage projects and roadmaps tightly in a resource constrained environment

What success in your first year looks like

When you started you took the time to get to know the team, our goals, our direction, and our data engineering needs. Drawing on your experience, you formulated a strategy and roadmap for data engineering, communicating the details, trade-offs and rationale to our technical teams and leadership. The tools and techniques were matched to the nuances of our product and stage, not a cookie cutter approach. You’ve become the glue between our data scientists and back end engineers, keeping us informed and aligned. Because of your work, we’re shipping engaging personalised features at warp speed with ease and confidence. You’ve leant into the joyful chaos of an early stage startup, jumping in and helping out where you can, even if a task isn’t related to the core of your role.

Benefits

  • Feel Present: Remote working model & Flexible hours ⏰
  • Feel Invested: Competitive equity options 💸
