The Mission

In your role you will support the ING Data Management organization in achieving a well- harmonized meta data model which reflects business data needs by creating, maintaining, using and governing meta data structures. You will support business users in translating their business requirements into data requirements and translating these data requirements into data structures to be used by data engineers.

Your day to day

We embrace a hybrid way of working eighter from the comfort of your home or from the office buildings in Bucharest. As a Meta Data & Data Modelling Analyst IV, you will:

  • Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required
  • Elicit complex business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals
  • May support internal customers or help senior colleagues manage internal client relationships.
  • Make recommendations to improve data systems and platforms, contributing to the continuous improvement and refinement of data strategy.
  • Oversee data collection mechanisms and how they fit into data architecture, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Manage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues. This includes being responsible for developing or operating basic elements of the data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes
  • Approve database specifications, ensuring all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.
  • Create/manage architecture storyboards/viewpoints that articulate business requirements.
  • Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization
  • Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure your own work adheres to required standards. OR identify, within the team, patterns of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures, and with relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, taking appropriate action to report and resolve these and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective project working relationships and to ensure that stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met.
  • Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. Solutions could be technical or professional in nature.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • ability to use SQL for medium complexity queries
  • experience working with databases and with data warehouse
  • experience as technical business analysis in IT projects
  • experience in requirements gathering and writing technical and functional specifications
  • hands-on experience with data quality, data lineage, data security, data privacy, data lifecycle management, data issue remediation and other data-governance practices
  • experience with banking products, processes, and services
  • experience with Agile methodologies
  • knowledge of banking regulatory requirements
