We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager, Data Engineering, to lead a high-performing team of data engineers and business analysts. This role is critical to our data transformation initiatives, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You’ll work within an Agile environment, helping the team deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions that directly impact our business goals.

As a leader, you will be responsible for coaching and mentoring a team of professionals, guiding them in best practices for data engineering and analytics while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid model.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

Lead, mentor, and coach a team of engineers and business analysts, supporting their career growth and professional development. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines, integrations, and workflows using tools such as Snowflake, Talend, and ActiveBatch. Oversee the design, development and creation of dimensional models and presentation layers for business consumption Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. Ensure high-quality deliverables by applying Agile Scrum practices, managing backlogs, sprint planning, and iterative development. Champion data governance, data quality, and performance optimization across all data initiatives. Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for data engineering processes. Actively contributes to strategic data initiatives and helps define the long-term data engineering roadmap.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

• Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of data engineers and/or business analysts.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data integration, or related roles.

• Strong experience working within an Agile Scrum development team.

• Demonstrated ability to take a project or significant feature from concept to launch.

• Proficiency with Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.

• Working knowledge of data vault principles

• Hands-on experience with Talend for data integration and ETL/ELT processes.

• Familiarity with ActiveBatch for job scheduling and workflow automation.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage).

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information
