Title and Summary

Director, Product Management

Mastercard’s Cyber and Intelligence organization develops and delivers world-class security products and services for customers across the globe. C&I was established to safeguard all aspects of safety and security in payments with new products, services, and standards.

Ethoca is a part of C&I and focuses on creating a rich environment for issuers and merchants to engage cardholders post-transaction, reducing frustration and driving repeat spend. Ethoca solutions focus on reducing fraud and chargebacks that disrupt the entire payments ecosystem increasing card acceptance and revenue.

Minna has been acquired by Ethoca a Mastercard company in 2024 and is creating the infrastructure which connects Subscription Merchants to top-tier Financial Institutions to enable shared consumers to easily take action on their subscriptions, such as canceling, pausing or changing plans from within their banking application.
This two way communication is facilitated by Ethoca Consumer Clarity API and the supporting infrastructure, including Minna’s Identify Engine, Merchant Registry and Action Management Engine.
Role Details
Lead Product Manager - Transaction Enrichment (Data AI & ML), Consumer Clarity Product will help define and lead the product strategy and implementation for the transaction enrichment capabilities, specifically Subscription Identification, but also other data and AI/ML based products.
There will also be opportunities for this role to work on other data and AI/ML products for building efficiencies in the system and deliver more value to our customers with the use of the right technologies.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with product, marketing, and sales leadership worldwide to define requirements, KPIs and success criteria, and help guide business architecture and go-to-market execution.

This role requires a curious, thoughtful, and analytical person with drive and passion for data, machine learning, and business strategy:

Technical Responsibilities

● This role lies at the intersection of data, product, engineering and strategy.
● Collaborate with data, product, and engineering stakeholders to enhance the product, developing granular roadmap with milestones, charting out dependencies, defining features, writing product specifications and PRDs, iterating on feedback, managing backlog, running data POCs, defining user stories and epics and implementing test plans
● Thorough understanding and knowledge of building data products, especially using transaction data, using enhanced Machine Learning models and Artificial Intelligence agents and techniques is critical.
● You will be expected to design and run end to end projects and POCs to validate hypotheses independently at a rapid scale to support evolution of the product.
● Write and own product documentation and other technical collateral for helping product development, architecture and integrations.
● The role is based in the UK but will work with teams based in US, UK, Europe and India and customers based globally.

Strategic Responsibilities

● Lead the rapid evolution of business and competitive strategy, and ensure that our rich value proposition is fully delivered
● Take a data-driven approach to competitive analysis, pricing evaluation, and regional market needs, identifying areas of opportunity and contributing to the product roadmap, while prioritizing work to deliver against key areas of focus
● Leverage data & dashboards to quickly identify product performance challenges, making recommendations on proposed action plans.
● Collaborate with pre-sales, integrations, onboarding and sales on the best way to highlight product features and ensure its optimal implementation to achieve customer and business goals.
● Capture market and customer feedback to enhance and drive the evolution of the product by working closely with bank and merchant stakeholders and ensure the desired value is achieved, leading to high accuracy, coverage and performance of the overall solution.
● Own the roadmap and strategy for your product area whilst working with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and overall goals. Manage all key product metrics, maintain SLA’s, monitor performance and report on product health.
● Define measures, KPIs, and success criteria to ensure appropriate monitoring and progress for product health
● Establish and maintain strong two-way communication with our go-to-market teams, partners, and customers
● Monitor and assess risk of both existing and emerging competitive solutions, seeking to differentiate core capabilities, features, and functions to ensure consistent competitive advantage in the marketplace
● Develop clear, convincing, and data-driven business cases for significant new growth investments
● Incorporate an understanding of the broader subscription ecosystem into ongoing product management (e.g. regulatory, legal, technology, competitive, technology environment etc.)
● Support client relationships with on-site client visits/ remote sessions for demos and technical sales discussions.

Who we are looking for

● Essential: Prior experience with, and a deep understanding of building data products, especially in the financial services domain.
● Desirable to have worked on customer transaction enrichment products, developing ML models / using AI agents and techniques
● Experience in business strategy is required – prior experience in a business consulting or related role is a bonus
● Experience in the Payments, Card Fraud, Ecommerce, or Financial Services space is desired
● Total product management experience of at least 10 years with relevant data products experience of at least 6 years.
● Experience with the development of data POCs, short and long-range product roadmaps, projects and strategic plans
● Ability to hit the ground running, adapt quickly and take an action-oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to execution that focuses on measurable results
● Strategic, analytical, and systematic thinker who consistently drives continuous improvement
● Experience with Data extraction, Analysis tools and techniques, and in analysis of operational data to support business decisions
● Applying expertise of technical principles, theories, and concepts, plus broad knowledge of data features and product development life cycle
● Proven experience as a Technical PM/PO, specifically for deeply technical products
● Engineering or equivalent practical experience background is desirable; ability to build and work with technical solutions is a must.
● Ability to do technical product management, user-centered design, or product strategy as needed
● Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and work effectively in a cross-functional team.
● Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
● Startup or early scale up experience is preferred

● Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non technical stake
