Job Description
The Population Health Analytics team is seeking a Data Engineer to help build an in house application to modernize and centralize Analytics efforts at Privia Health. The Value Based Care (VBC) Data Engineer will work with the Analytics Engineering Director to design, test and implement high quality infrastructure supporting the needs of a diverse group of healthcare analysts, clinicians and stakeholders. This position will reward the right candidate with vast creative freedom, a position on a diverse team of thinkers and doers and the ability to explore their intellectual curiosity to solve healthcare's greatest informatics problems.
- Collaborate with team members to develop data solutions enabling faster and more accurate analytics across the data ecosystem.
- Guide technical decisions and design to reduce or eliminate disparate and manual processes while maximizing VBC analytics and process insights.
- Learn and implement new technologies as the needs of the team evolve.
- Contribute high quality well tested and QA’d code.
- Own application code as a product servicing the broader team.
- Guide team members on best practices in writing, maintaining and deploying code.
- Augment technical skills by developing subject matter expertise.
- Troubleshoot and fix data errors and anomalies.
- Integrate disparate data assets into a unified framework for development and VBC engagements.
- Facilitate and contribute to development and maintenance of complex models supporting VBC and analytic efforts.
- Design and execute KPIs to track performance and accountability of established VBC processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience writing production quality Python in a data engineering role. Experience with object oriented programming and popular Python libraries is a plus. Experience packaging and deploying Python applications is a plus.
- 2+ years experience writing performant organized SQL.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical processes.
- Experience working with large datasets. Preferably healthcare claims and/or EHR databases and their content a plus.
- Experience using frameworks such as DBT a plus
- Experience using data validation frameworks such as Monte Carlo or Great Expectations
- Experience with Analytics languages such as R or SAS a plus
- Experience working with value based care contracts in a healthcare setting is a plus.
- Qualitative and quantitative skills, with emphasis on effectively communicating complex data to a varied audience.
- Experience with cloud computing, GCP a plus.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
The salary range for this role is $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance, 401K, paid time off, and other wellness programs). This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 15%. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
