About GeoComply
We’re GeoComply! We are at the forefront of geolocation, cybersecurity, and anti-fraud innovation, developing and delivering cutting-edge technologies to help ensure regulatory compliance, combat bad online actors, alleviate user friction, and protect businesses from fraud.
Achieving significant business and revenue growth over the past three years and dubbed a tech “Unicorn,” GeoComply has been trusted by leading global brands and regulators for over ten years. Our compliance-grade geolocation technology solutions are installed on over 400 million devices and analyze over 12 billion transactions a year.
At the heart of it all is the people, united by a deep commitment to problem-solving and revolutionizing how people and businesses use the internet to instill confidence in every online interaction. With teams across five countries, three continents, and a global customer base, we have no plans to slow down.
We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our strong team of equally enthusiastic individuals. You will play a key role in building and deploying scalable machine learning solutions, leveraging the power of the cloud and big data technologies. This role offers the opportunity to own projects, contribute to technical direction, and work with cutting-edge technologies, potentially including resolving cybersecurity problems by building real-time fraud detection systems and AI agents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data and feature pipelines using big data technologies like Spark, Flink, and Delta Lake.
  • Build end-to-end machine learning pipelines, encompassing data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment, potentially using tools like MLFlow for tracking.
  • Implement and optimize machine learning models for batch/offline training and real-time/streaming inference, with a focus on high performance and low latency, potentially for systems like real-time fraud detection.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to understand and implement machine learning algorithms using relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, SparkML, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for machine learning and software components.
  • Develop and deploy microservices to serve machine learning models and related functionalities, considering the demands of high-traffic systems.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, proactively identify potential issues, and propose effective solutions.
  • Clearly articulate technical concepts and explain the rationale behind proposed solutions.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and "can-do" attitude towards challenges.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming with Python, with a strong emphasis on writing clean, well-structured, and maintainable code and relevant ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SparkML).
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with both OLAP and OLTP systems.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and their underlying principles.
  • Experience in building end-to-end ML pipelines for both batch and real-time/streaming applications, preferably for high-traffic and low-latency systems.
  • Experience with MLOps practices such as model performance monitoring, monitoring feature and concept drift, and explainable techniques (SHAP, LIME, etc.).
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Experience building and deploying data and feature engineering pipelines using Spark and Delta Lake.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership and a proactive approach to work.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with AI Agent development and deployment.
  • Experience working on applications such as Fraud Detection, Cybersecurity, or Anomaly Detection.
  • Experience with developing and deploying microservices (e.g., using Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with Databricks and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Experience with Golang and/or Java programming.
