The Role

The Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for leading a team in collecting, standardizing and using data to enable actionable insights and recommendations to improve business performance. This role will oversee the development and implementation of data insights strategies across Product Operations and will inform strategic decisions with data-driven insights, by collaborating with the Program Operations team to identify key metrics and analyze trends.   

 

This person will work closely with the Director of Program Operations to form a feedback loop by identifying areas of improvement and measuring the impacts operational best practices are making on KPIs.  

The Main Responsibilities

Strategy development: Create and execute a comprehensive analytics strategy aligned with overall Business Operations objectives.  

​Report Key Performance Indicators: Intakes KPI requirements used to measure product performance; identify gaps in current state data and build plans to close the gaps. 

​Reporting and visualization: Understand senior leadership and product team data and reporting needs and develop a strategy to standardized approach across product portfolios while also being able to roll metrics up or click down.  

​Team leadership: Manage a team of data analysts, developers, data engineers and BI designers by assigning tasks and overseeing projects. setting goals, managing timelines, and ensuring successful implementation.  

​Stakeholder collaboration: partner with different departments to understand data availability and work collaboratively to drive the right amount of granularity needed. 

​Data normalization: Build a strategy to take disparate pieces of information and normalize the data so it can be used across reporting needs.

​Feedback management: Establishing feedback mechanisms to capture insights, prioritize feedback, and integrate them into reporting development cycles.  

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis, data visualization, and statistical methods in the telecom or technology industries. 
  • ​Proven track record of leading and managing teams of data analysts, developers, data engineers, and BI designers. 
  • ​Experience in developing and implementing data analytics strategies. 
  • ​Strong background in collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven insights and improvements in a Fortune 500 company with a matrix environment.
  • ​Expertise in data analysis techniques and statistical methods. 
  • ​Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R). 
  • ​Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences. 
  • ​Strong leadership experience in managing teams and projects. 
  • ​Understanding of different business functions and how data analytics can drive business performance. 
  • ​Strong problem-solving skills to identify gaps in current data and build plans to close those gaps. 
  • ​Ability to create and execute a comprehensive analytics strategy aligned with business objectives. 
  • ​Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with various departments and stakeholders. 
  • ​Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in data analysis and reporting. 
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, effectively translating minimal direction from leadership into actionable strategies and executing comprehensive plans to achieve organizational goals.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$149,084 - $198,779 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$156,539 - $208,718 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$163,993 - $218,657 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
