Welcome to the BMW Group. Our focus on the premium idea and the principle of sustainability appeals to people worldwide.SOME IT WORKS. SOME CHANGES WHAT'S POSSIBLE.
SHARE YOUR PASSION.
More than 90% of automotive innovations are based on electronics and software. That's why creative freedom and lateral thinking are so important in the pursuit of truly novel solutions. That’s why our experts will treat you as part of the team from day one, encourage you to bring your own ideas to the table – and give you the opportunity to really show what you can do.
We are seeking a highly motivated graduate student to work on a master's thesis project focused on applying artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to 3D numerical simulations. The successful candidate will explore the use of machine learning, deep learning, and other AI approaches to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and capabilities of 3D simulation models across a variety of engineering and scientific domains.
What awaits you?
- Conduct a comprehensive literature review on the state-of-the-art in AI-powered 3D numerical simulations.
- Develop novel AI algorithms and architectures to improve the performance of 3D simulation models.
- Implement and test the proposed AI-based approaches on benchmark 3D simulation problems.
- Analyze the results, quantify the improvements, and identify areas for further development.
- Document the research findings in the form of a high-quality master's thesis.
- Present the work at relevant conferences and workshops.
Please note that your thesis must be supervised by a university on your part.
What should you bring along?
- Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., computer science, engineering).
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++/.
- Background in numerical simulations and strong background on deep learning libraries, e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow.
- Experience with Graph-Neural-Networks (GNNs) ideally for mesh-based simulations.
- Familiarity with existing GNN libraries, e.g. PyG, NVIDIA PhysicsNeMo.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
