About the Role

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll enable autonomous, high-performing engineering teams by cultivating talent, fostering inclusive environments, and building strong partnerships with clients and stakeholders. Your focus will be on developing your direct reports for long-term success, ensuring delivery of high-quality technical solutions, and facilitating communication between multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture inclusive teams of diverse engineers, creating safe spaces for authenticity and growth
  • Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports, supporting their career paths and professional development
  • Proactively address performance issues, raising the bar for the team and individuals
  • Collaborate with product and program teams to define business requirements and ensure technical feasibility
  • Maintain a clear focus on delivery priorities and set expectations with all stakeholders
  • Ensure the highest standards for product, code quality, and client interactions, owning the “Definition of Done” for projects
  • Champion open communication within and between teams, preventing silos and fostering information transparency
  • Understand technical context and challenges, equipping teams to plan and execute technical strategies effectively
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, particularly technical counterparts, acting with a consulting mindset
  • Contribute to supporting artifacts (e.g., diagrams, documents, decks) as needed
  • Remove barriers, resolve blockers, and proactively support program delivery at the team and organizational level
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with 14+ years in IT or related fields
  • Strong understanding of modern web technologies and development practices, including lifecycle management and deployment pipelines
  • Hands-on expertise (current or past) in one or more technologies: Ruby, Python, Go, TypeScript, Swift, React
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
  • Proven ability to build inclusive, high-performing teams and mentor direct reports for growth and performance
  • Strong stakeholder management and client partnership skills, with a consultative approach
  • Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail, driving high standards for technical and collaborative execution
  • Comfortable creating clear documentation and visual artifacts to support team alignment and client understanding
