National Grid is hiring a HR Data Governance Manager for our People Function. This position can be based at either The Strand, London or Warwick, UK.

Job Purpose

At National Grid, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Data Governance Manager to join our Global People Data and Analytics team. In this exciting role, you will help shape the future of our workforce and empower our people to achieve great performance.

 

As the Data Governance Manager, you will be at the forefront of establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks that ensure the integrity, security, and effective use of HR data across National Grid. 

What You'll Do

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Designing and implementing a comprehensive Data Governance strategy aligned with HR priorities.
  • Engaging with business leaders and stakeholders to support the execution of our company-wide data governance framework.
  • Leading programs and projects in collaboration with IT to enhance our data operating model and governance initiatives.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on HR data, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulatory standards.
  • Defining and managing National Grid’s worker ‘golden record’ and enabling data quality assurance processes.

About You

 

To succeed in this role, you should have:

 

  • Strong leadership skills to lead a small team, drive cultural change and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Effective at working autonomously, setting the strategic direction, establishing and delivering on plans.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization to enable data governance outcomes.
  • Experience in delivering change programs related to Data Governance and Data Quality.
  • Knowledge of AI systems and their impact on data governance.
  • A good understanding of DAMA/DMBOK or similar data management frameworks.
  • Proven experience in managing and improving data quality, including the definition, implementation, and monitoring of data quality frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation and analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, and more.

What You'll Get

 

  • Competitive Salary: circa £62,000 – £73,000 per annum (dependent on location, capability, and experience).
  • Bonus: Up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance.

This role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basis. 


 
We are also offering hybrid /flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. Base location for this role will be The Strand, London or Warwick, UK.
