GENERAL SUMMARY

The Data Analytics Developer will be a member of a global team with a key emphasis on providing development and maintenance for SAP Data Services, ETL process, and PBI Reporting. This individual will work with the Data Analytics Analyst and business units to document field mapping, business rules, and business logic required to transform master and transactional data from various ERP systems into the analytical databases and Power BI Reports.

 

This individual will design and deliver the end-to-end ETL process and Data Analytics technology infrastructure that will feed data to dashboards, scorecards, standard reports, and ad hoc reports. The Data Analytics Developer has proven experience providing technology solutions, in both SAP Business Object Data Services (BODS) and Power BI (PBI), to support key business processes and providing troubleshooting support within a global manufacturing environment. This individual will report to the Manager of the Data and Analytics Team.

 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ETL process in SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) for source SAP and non-SAP systems and target OLAP systems (SQL, etc.).
  • Design, estimate and create project plan for development, testing, and implementation of ETL, PBI reports process and related tasks.
  • Document mapping and transformation rules from source system fields in SAP (S3) and non-SAP ERP systems to database.
  • Proficiency in database systems and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Design, implement, and support Power BI data models, data flows, dashboards, and visualizations ensuring optimal performance and ease of use.
  • Use DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create custom calculations, measures, and KPIs.
  • Monitor BODS/PBI jobs and dataflows, perform fast troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and provide fast turnaround with a resolution of job failure and any other issues in the BODS/PBI production system.
  • Create documentation to assist business users and IT members effectively using the solutions developed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with BODS and Power BI systems in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including data analysts, IT, and business users to gather, analyze, and test data requirements.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in an Agile project environment
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and data visualization.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated technical mastery of Design, Development, Deployment, Administration of SAP Business Objects Data Services and MSFT ETL applications.
  • 5+ years of experience developing ETL process with SAP and non-SAP source systems.
  • 5+ years of experience working with SAP (ECC6), SQL, and other data warehouse & OLAP

  • Experience in designing SAP Data Services job flows to extract from and load to SAP systems and SQL Servers, including delta loads to improve ETL performance.
  • Sound knowledge of SAP FICO, SD, MM/Pur, PP data and tables.
  • Sound knowledge of BODS scheduling and Management Console.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, star schema, data modelling and data warehouse concepts.
  • Solid Experience with Data Integration transforms such as Query, Validation, Case transforms and Data Quality transforms such as Match, Associate, and Data Cleanse.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining SQL servers and databases.
  • Solid experience in building Power BI data models, reports, and dashboards
  • Experience Architecting Data model in PowerBI with complex joins, and developing Power automate workflows.
  • Proficient in building DAX queries in Power BI desktop.
  • Experience in creating the technical design, architecture, and data flow diagrams for BI and analytics applications.
  • Experience with Azure services like Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, or Azure Synapse Analytics.

 

 

Mandatory Education and Experience

  • B. Tech/B. E/MCA/Masters in Business Systems Analysis in a relevant stream through the regular course from recognized university and institute in India
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in SAP BODS and ETL applications and working in a global organization
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Power BI and SQL Server
  • One or more business intelligence certifications (PBI, SAP, Microsoft SQL/Azure, GCP, etc.)
