Job Summary:
This role of the Senior Data Analyst is part of a high-performing, commercial-facing data and analytics team responsible for defining and developing metrics and data modeling requirements for reporting. The data analyst will create compelling visualizations, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and build custom reporting solutions for clients. They will also automate tasks to improve processes and maintain comprehensive documentation of data methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Define and develop the metrics and data modeling requirements for Commercial reporting and create compelling visualizations to help stakeholders understand complex information and make informed decisions
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of commercial operations and identify areas for improvement
- Build custom reporting solutions for new and existing clients which includes but is not limited to: requirement gathering, write-up of scoping documents, creating/testing of report outputs, and delivery to the end-user.
- Develop and maintain suite of standard/custom reports used internally and for clients, adhering to Element’s reporting brand and value.
- Identify, refine, and improve processes through automation of tasks and develop best practices that increase team efficiency and improve stakeholder satisfaction.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, methodologies, and tools used, ensuring clarity and consistency for future reference and training purposes
- Provide “help desk” support to clients and internal team in resolving data analytics issues
- Balance short term and long term needs to ensure that the data architecture can scale and evolve accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Interactions:
- Collaborate with the Salesforce team to obtain and understand commercial data, ensuring accurate and comprehensive data integration.
- Inform sales team of their performance through regular reports and visualizations, helping them track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Work with the account management team to understand client reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring tailored and effective solutions.
- Data and Technical Consulting Team in IT in NA to drive the execution of the designed reporting, dashboards, and desired data model strategy.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree/post-secondary diploma is a requirement.
- Degree/Diploma in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Advanced skills in programming languages e.g. Python, R, SQL , Power Query, DAX
- Proficiency in using Snowflake and familiarity with relational databases
- Very strong MS Office Products proficiency required
- 6 to 10 years related work experience in reporting, analytics and data analysis.
Desired Characteristics
- Master's degree is an asset.
- Working knowledge in data visualization tools (Advanced knowledge of Power BI is an asset).
- Foundational knowledge and interest in AI and machine learning techniques to enhance data analysis and predictive modeling.
- Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work individually in a fast-paced environment and work well within a team with a focus on results, accuracy, and delivery.
