You're made ready and so are we. ™Citizens’ Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) organization is seeking a Principal Data Analyst to participate on a team of advanced data analytics professionals. This team is engaged in growing Citizens’ Business Banking segment using advanced analytics to support sales growth initiatives.
As a Principal Data Analyst, you will own the roadmap, build, enhancement and maintenance of strategic data products that help business drive decision making. This candidate will own multiple data products including but not limited to Business Client Profitability. You will also work alongside other colleagues within the team and broader data / analytics and technology colleagues to conceptualize, design, and build solutions that are strategic for the business while ensuring products meets approved architecture patterns and governance. Scope including but not limited to linkages with centralized assets and engineering teams such as Salesforce, Master Data Management, and other Internal Customer Databases.
The candidate will also be responsible for supporting a wide range of data analysis functions, including but not limited to performing adhoc analysis to support strategic business needs.
The candidate will also own responsibility for enabling hardened data for business banking that allows performing insightful analytics to be consumed by data scientists and other advanced analytics professionals on the team.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex business data. Experience with marketing, customer, financial and business data is desirable. Possess strong analytical, data and communication skills; and demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment. Ideal candidate will have expertise in database management, data warehousing, business analysis, and project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies (AWS required) and the ability to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain analytical data products to support analytical and reporting needs.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and governance across enterprise data systems.
- Perform Exploratory and Ad-hoc Business Analysis to support key strategic insights.
- Partner with data engineers, architects, modelers to design, build data pipelines.
- Guide, coach, mentor junior data analytics professionals on the team.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements, KPIs, and success metrics for data initiatives.
- Translate complex data insights into clear and actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from scoping and planning to execution and delivery.
- Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making across teams through training and mentorship.
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to enable efficient processes aligned with decision making that will be enabled through data products.
- Implement robust data management skills to ensure integrity of data sourced and applied for analytical implementation.
Required Skills/Experience
• 7+ years of experience in data analysis, database management, or business intelligence.
• Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and database design (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with tools like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Experience working with AWS cloud technologies (or equivalent cloud platforms).
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and automation including low-code tools such as Alteryx.
• Solid understanding of business analysis and project management principles.
• Strong data visualization skills using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar tools.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams with engineers, product managers, and business leaders.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
• Knowledge of big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and AI-driven analytics.
• Certifications in AWS, PMP, or data analytics are a plus.
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $113,000-$169,000 per year plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
