About the role
Are you ready to make a significant impact in the UK's leading investment services company? We are on a mission to revolutionize our data strategy by building core data hubs that serve as a single source of truth for our business. Our evolving data estate on AWS and Snowflake is at the heart of this transformation, consolidating key data areas such as client, account, and market reference data hubs.As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the engineering efforts for these data hubs, collaborating closely with our wider data platform team. Your role will involve creating robust data pipelines that adhere to our best practices and architectural principles. A strong understanding of automated testing in data platforms is essential, as we strive to achieve a fully automated testing suite managed through DevOps processes.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to integration deliveries using our AWS platform, working within our dynamic data integration team. You will be part of a secure, innovative, and digital-focused company where you can truly leave your mark.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering and owning critical data hubs for downstream operational and analytical consumption.
- Design and build in accordance with data engineering best practices around operational readiness, observability &automated testing.
- Collaborate with architecture and security teams to implement security principles, e.g. PII handling, GDP compliance.
- Providing technical leadership and solutions for the wider data platform adoption.
- Design and deliver data integration patterns from the data hubs for operational consumption.
- Delivering Cloud native solutions on our AWS platform while working as a part of wider integration team
- Work in a fast-paced agile environment with continuous delivery focussed on use cases and objectives.
- Engaging with stakeholders to build roadmaps for the core hubs.
- Lead by example as part of a data engineering team.
About You
You are a highly skilled data engineer with experience in working with high volume data / low latency data pipeline.
Data Engineering skills
- Modelling
- Orchestration using Apache Airflow
- Cloud native streaming pipelines using Flink, Beam etc.
- DBT
- Snowflake
Infrastructure Skills
- Terraform
Devops Skills
- Experienced in developing CI/CD pipelines
Integration Skills
- REST and Graph APIs (Desirable)
- Serverless API development ( e.g. Lambda, Cloud Functions etc.) (Desirable)
