Job Description
The Reference Data Specialist – New Client Onboarding plays a critical role in ensuring smooth setup and transition of new clients onto NielsenIQ platforms. This role requires a balance of strong coding capabilities, project coordination, stakeholder communication, and end-to-end (E2E) project understanding.
The specialist will support new client onboarding projects by preparing coding documents, coordinating with support teams, tracking project milestones, and ensuring timely query resolution. This is a high-impact, collaborative role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, multi-project environment.
- Responsible for preparing coding documents and setup instructions to support new client onboarding activities across categories (e.g., Beverages, Food, Health & Beauty).
- Work closely with the support teams, providing clear documentation and timely clarifications.
- Coordinate and track multiple onboarding projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines and milestones.
- Conduct item-related quality checks and ensure coding accuracy in alignment with client requirements.
- Monitor and respond to data, coding, and product-related queries; escalate or collaborate with stakeholders for resolution as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress, special instructions, and status updates to ensure transparency and traceability.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, support teams, and the project manager.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams (Data Operations, Client Success, Product) and external stakeholders.
- Get hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of onboarding projects—from initial requirements to database go-live.
- May support physical store checks or back up other coders as required.
- Willing to be trained to become a category expert across assigned industries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in data operations, coding, or client onboarding preferred; Fresh graduates with strong potential are welcome.
- FMCG industry experience or prior exposure to onboarding processes is a plus.
- Strong documentation and communication skills to coordinate across functions.
- Excellent project tracking and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Passionate about data, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and logical thinking.
- High sense of accountability and ownership, with a proactive mindset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; familiarity with SQL, R, or Python is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural, fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin or other Asian languages is an advantage.
