The Role: Data Analyst-EMEA Shift

The Team: You will be part of the IMO Company Numbering team, composed of 4 colleagues based in UK and Penang within our Maritime Data Operations sector, providing support on research, validation, and update of Maritime entities against our global fleet data.

As part of the research and analysis requirements you will support our expansion on Data Integration project by aligning our entity data sets to financial data to create more data insight for our customers.  This will not only enable exposure to research and analysis of the Maritime & Trade datasets, but also a collaboration with data Transformation colleagues in our Financial Services division.

Responsibilities:   

•         Research & analysis pertaining to Maritime and financial related datasets as applicable to entities.

•         Updating and maintaining the Ship Ownership data for the global fleet in response to the above.

•         Capture and validate data through both our primary sources and newly acquired sources to transform data into critical information. To ensure Ownerships records are accurate on our database before issuing Company IMO Number to avoid incorrect IMO Company Identification Numbers being used on company’s documentation and it is important that the fleet is reflected under the correct company.

•         Working closely with in-country/region experts to validate data.

•         To actively research and scrutinize a variety of data sources to extract and evaluate relevant data

•         To ensure the team's work and methods are carried out according to the Company's Quality Policy and Style Guide

•         To carry out regular audits on the data ensuring currency, consistency, completeness, and correctness is achieved.

•         To review and perform full check and update the sanctioned company’s record.

•         Collaborate efficiently with internal and external stakeholders

•         Deliver outstanding customer value and commercial results for Maritime & Trade

•         Contribute to Maritime and Trade business intelligence and data analytics through innovation

•         Support a high-performance and results-based culture within Maritime and Trade

•         Provide support and guidance to direct team members, peers in any area of expertise

•         Identify problem and solutions, provide insights on area of improvement communicate extensively with relevant stakeholders to ensure business projects able to be delivered in timely manner.

What We’re Looking For:

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field

•Keen interest in the Maritime industry

•Previous work experience with database or in Maritime Industry would be advantageous

•Good research & analysis skills

•Excellent communication

•Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

•Ability to work to a high level of accuracy with attention to detail

•An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment

•The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting with immediate coworkers

•Be legally eligible to work for the duration of the program in the country for which you apply

•Good multitasking skills
