Data and Analytics Intern

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data & Analytics Intern to support our team with key initiatives involving database structuring, business intelligence reporting, and data governance. This role offers hands-on experience with tools like SQL, Power BI, and Excel, and provides exposure to real-world challenges in data architecture, analytics, and report migration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Help migrate legacy reports from Cognos to the Power BI portal.
• Participate in documenting data governance processes and best practices.
• Create dashboards and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
• Support the creation of documentation and process for managing report access permissions across the organization.
• Assist in building a database hierarchy structure involving insurers and plan sponsors.
• Read and write SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.

Qualifications Expected for Position

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Familiarity with report migration or enterprise reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Power BI Service, Tableau).
• Proficiency in SQL (reading and writing queries).
• Basic understanding of data governance concepts and documentation practices.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy and clarity.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
