The Lubricants Americas Business is on a transformational journey to grow our business by 30% in the next 3 years - enabled by a broader digital transformation, a S&OP refresh, and brilliant basics amongst many other tactics – all of which are underpinned by accurate, dynamic, master data.  The business has over 10k ship-to locations, 20+ manufacturing locations, 10+ storage locations, 4k+ finished goods, 1k+ raw materials with thousands of different shipping lanes, vendors, etc. – all this to say there is a significant amount of master data to be maintained in constantly evolving external market conditions.

For us to not only be cost competitive, but also to deliver against our customer promise, and leverage the various digital tools being implemented – our master data accuracy must grow significantly and fast. 

Vision:  To take our E2E Master Data Mgmt. from Emerging to Differentiated on the Accenture Maturity scale – distinguished by leveraging proactive alerts to address master data anomalies, incorporating financial inputs into master data management, and development and use of in-depth business rule sets to audit and update rule sets.

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Master Data Management (MDM) Team Lead to oversee our MDM operations, which include finished goods, production, raw materials, and customer sourcing. This role involves leading the development and execution of MDM strategies and policies across the organization. The ideal candidate will provide strong leadership to the MDM team, ensuring adherence to data governance standards and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all master data.

What’s the role?

  • Develop and execute master data management (MDM) strategies and policies to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the organization.
  • Lead and guide the MDM team, ensuring compliance with established data governance standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to maintain high-quality data and drive continuous improvement in data integrity.
  • Design and oversee data quality initiatives, including profiling, cleansing, and enrichment processes.
  • Ensure proper classification, mapping, and maintenance of data to support reliable reporting and analytics.
  • Utilize data analytics tools such as Power BI and Spotfire to detect anomalies and drive corrective actions, leveraging automation tools like Alteryx for mass data updates.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of all systems housing master data (e.g., SAP, TMS, O8) and their interdependencies.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and business units to promote adherence to data governance policies and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Contributes to the creation and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and standards.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on the progress and impact of MDM initiatives.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance MDM processes, tools, and methodologies to ensure they remain effective and aligned with business needs.

What we need from you

  • Any Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Master Data Management or related field.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a supply chain environment
  • 3-5 years SAP experience / ERP experience required with strong exposure to at least two of the functional areas described above
  • Proven experience in leading an MDM team.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, best practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment tools.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to understand and address their master data needs.
  • Proven ability to build predictive analytics tools using PowerBI, Spotfire or otherwise.

Additional Note:

  • The time requirement for this position is M-F from 5:00 p.m. until 1.30 a.m. ISD and will change in accordance to Daylight Savings Time in the US.
  • Shift allowance (as per India country norms i.e. IRN 475/ per day (shift)) will be provided for the off-shift requirement.
