Client Data Integration is focused on the process and development cycle surrounding the onboarding of client financial data onto FactSet’s systems. The ability for prospective and existing clients to view, analyze, and benchmark their own proprietary data is a key differentiator for FactSet, and having supportable daily feeds created to load this information is vital to the FactSet business model.
The Investment Portfolio Data Integration Analyst is expected to work closely with our internal sales team as well as any third-parties involved in the data extraction and upload. Management of the data integration process from start to finish is the primary mandate of our team, including: extraction from accounting systems, design and building the solution to load data to FactSet, creating processes to systematically reformat data to match FactSet requirements, and validating the data to ensure accuracy on FactSet’s systems.
In addition to working directly with custodians and other FactSet specialists, there will be broad exposure to FactSet business practices, products and infrastructure. This provides many opportunities to further develop technical and financial asset knowledge, such as writing Perl scripts, using command line operating systems, and understanding different types of fixed income instruments.
Responsibilities:
- Speak and write both clearly and fluently in English.
- Understand how proprietary client data is loaded and used within FactSet’s tools
- Manage the implementation process of client portfolio data
- Partner with internal technical, engineering, and financial experts to understand and translate the client’s investment universe and reporting requirements into data specifications
- Ensure client data is complete and accurate, while improving quality and addressing data integrity issues
- Become familiar with common third-party systems used by our clients
- Oversee and improve existing data integration processes between clients and FactSet
- Work well on a team and collaborate with other members of the Client Data Integration Team
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
- Must have strong PC skills, excellent interpersonal skills, interest in finance, and a desire to learn.
- Desired Skills: Previous coding or programming experience (Perl and Python in particular), use of command line operating system (such as Linux), or background in working with databases (such as MySQL). Knowledge of capital markets and familiarity with asset classes such as equity, fixed income, options, credit default swaps, currency forwards, and other derivatives.
