The Lead Data Scientist role comprises the following work:
- Develops, maintains and enhances data sets for use by researchers
- Creates models, develops, and orchestrates processes to support business strategy and tactics
- Mentors others on compiling and analyzing data
- Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision
- Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action

- Ability to work independently and make decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality data solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science
- At least five years of experience at a research organization in roles such as researcher, data analyst/engineer, data scientist, or developer.
- Expert proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience mentoring in programming, data manipulation, and model fitting.
- Data engineering experience, including developing, implementing, and orchestrating data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Experience with data orchestration tools for automating data workflows and integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration processes.
- Familiarity with data modeling automation tools and frameworks.
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- Strong knowledge of data security, privacy, and governance principles.
- Experience with R and SAS.
- Experience with Data Vault 2.0.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
