Are you passionate about uncovering the stories hidden in data? As our Sales Data Analyst, you'll be the bridge between complex information and actionable business intelligence that drives revenue growth. In this role, you'll harness your analytical expertise to help Scripps innovate, outpace competitors, and make smarter decisions that impact our bottom line. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Sales Technology Operations, you'll collaborate with our data analytics team and national sales leaders to identify critical business questions, then craft compelling answers through statistical analysis and data mining. Your ability to communicate insights both visually and verbally will make you a true change agent, transforming raw data into strategic advantage in ways that both leadership and clients can act upon.

Scripps offers a hybrid work option for this position based in our Washington D.C. office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Supports Sr Manager, Sales Technology Operations in optimizing the sales technology stack, including sales automation tools, CRM's, performance dashboards, and other proprietary tools.
  • Supports Sr Manager Sales Technology Operations in the development of KPI's and Sales indicator tools that provide data-driven insights to sales leaders & stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal developers in creating sales enablement software tools.
  • Provides regular reporting on key performance indicators, helping sales to mee its revenue and profit targets.
  • Supports national sales management in tracking sales activity and implementing advice on strategies to achieve sales goals.
  • Supports advertising sales pitch with analysis and data driven collateral that is compelling to the client. Guides client decisions using  historical results and future projections as a trusted advisor to sales leaders and users, using data and analytics as a basis for better, more informed decision making.
  • Identifies impactful metrics and uncovers sales opportunities that drive value for the organization and clients through analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, market data, or internal transactional data.
  • Influences the direction of the business by effectively communicating conclusions to cross-functional groups.
  • Mines large amounts of data and performs data analysis to extract useful business insights for a wide range of topics including product  development and performance, market dynamics, consumer and audience knowledge, internal operations, and external research.
  • Performs initial study design, acquisition of data, prototyping and production roll out.
  • Provides ongoing tracking, monitoring, and periodic follow-up studies.
  • Supports the design and implementation of reporting dashboards that track key business metrics and provide actionable insights.
  • Secures final, accurate data files from vendors.
  • Uses software and other tools to develop analyses that identify patterns, influences, correlations, relationships, predictive factors, risk  factors, and that provide better situational awareness.
  • Creates models, simulations, and optimization routines.
  • Develops data flows and acquisition strategies to facilitate the capture and sharing of data and analytics within the organization.
  • Supports the development of analytics products and services by providing input into product roadmaps.
  • Creates analytics and measurement roadmaps.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, Market Research, Business, Advertising, Marketing, Statistics, Psychology, Sociology or related   field, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
  • 2 years marketing analytics, media sales support or advertising agency experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience through academic work/projects, internships or work experience in quantitative and qualitative market research, political polling, consumer insights, brand management or other related work.
  • Experience with mapping business drivers to data mining and analysis approaches.

  • Ability to work with diverse teams (Sales, Research and Developers) to convert product ideas into requirements for analysis
  • Understanding of market research or analytics, and its application to broadcast and/or digital media (preferred)
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit; sense of urgency, responsive, confident, thorough, not afraid to make decisions
  • Strong work ethic
  • Must be resourceful, creative, and innovative
  • Create and contribute to a quality work environment
  • Results oriented team player that leads by example, holding him or herself accountable for performance, takes ownership, champions efforts with enthusiasm and conviction
