YOUR ROLE

As our company accelerates its transformation into an AI-focused firm, we are seeking a talented Head of Generative AI & Data Platforms in France. In this role, you will:

• Contribute hands-on to high-impact, AI-powered projects for leading clients, solving complex engineering challenges using state-of-the-art technologies.
• Act as a technical leader who inspires, mentors, and scales engineering teams, while representing PALO IT as a speaker and thought leader within global tech communities.
• Act as a trusted advisor, closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their challenges, shape roadmaps, and deliver strategic outcomes.

Your unique blend of deep technical expertise, consulting experience, and leadership qualities will be key to driving innovation and enabling AI-augmented workflows across projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Expertise:

• Apply and oversee robust data engineering practices to develop maintainable, scalable data and AI systems.
• Guide, architect, and review end-to-end machine learning and generative AI pipelines (data ingestion, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring).
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies in both Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI and ensure their integration into client solutions.
• Provide hands-on expertise during the full software development life cycle, including code reviews, architecture design, and troubleshooting.

Mentorship & Team Development:

• Mentor and upskill team members in AI/ML best practices, code quality, and new technology stacks.
• Develop and implement training programs on topics such as ML Ops, large-scale data processing, and generative AI frameworks.

Thought Leadership:

• Support the team in developing technical papers, presenting at scientific conferences, and contributing to industry forums on behalf of palo it.
• Foster a culture of intellectual curiosity and technical excellence within the team.

WHO YOU ARE

You are an inspiring technical leader with 10+ years in software engineering and consulting, and proven expertise architecting complex, AI-driven systems. Adept at both client engagement and team leadership, you combine deep technical skills with strong business acumen and a passion for innovation.

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant hands-on development work on AI-driven projects.
• 5+ years in high-growth, agile environments where you’ve led or scaled engineering teams.
• 10+ years of experience in a consulting or client-facing role, with strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to architect and deliver complex software systems, while integrating AI responsibly and effectively.
• Deep passion for innovation, continuous learning, and sharing knowledge with others.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – you can navigate between deep technical conversations and strategic business discussions.
• Entrepreneurial, creative, and pragmatic – able to drive change and influence outcomes independently.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Deep expertise in big data pipelines, distributed computing (e.g., Spark, Hadoop), and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Strong experience delivering machine learning and generative AI solutions in production environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and relevant ML/AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace).
• Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and setting engineering standards.
• Extensive experience delivering consulting services in client-facing roles, with strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge about sustainability is a plus

POSITION DETAILS

• Based in Paris, hybrid work model (at least 3 days/week in the office)
• Travel may occasionally be required depending on assignments and clients
