This position requires candidates to be onsite 3 days per week in Indianapolis, IN.
Security Data Scientist | About You
As a Security Data Scientist, you apply your expertise in data science, IT systems, and cybersecurity to identify risks, optimize system behavior, and support security decision-making across platforms. You are experienced in managing data from diverse environments including iOS, macOS, Windows, and Microsoft 365. You bring a deep understanding of server and client systems, logs, and network behavior, along with strong analytical and visualization skills using tools like Power BI. You are a critical thinker who uses AI tools and advanced modeling techniques to scale analysis and improve infrastructure efficiency. You thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments and bring discipline, focus, and curiosity to solving complex security problems at scale.
Security Data Scientist | Day-to-Day
- Use Power BI or similar tools to model, visualize, and interpret data for cybersecurity and IT decision-making.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to scale infrastructure insights and streamline processes.
- Analyze logs and system behavior to identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align security initiatives with business objectives.
- Troubleshoot server and client systems and contribute to maintaining IT device and software compliance.
- Research and document application behaviors using internal contacts, vendor materials, and publicly available sources.
Security Data Scientist | Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in data science, cybersecurity, or technical IT operations roles.
- Proficiency in data modeling, analysis, and visualization using Power BI or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, IT device management, and endpoint systems across iOS, macOS, and Windows.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage logs, documentation, and behavioral data to troubleshoot network and application issues.
- Familiarity with AI tools to drive efficiencies and build scalable solutions in IT environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across global, cross-functional teams.
- Experience with SIEM and XSOAR platforms, or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar are a bonus.
