Data Science and AI Intern

Overview

Lynker is seeking a motivated Data Science and AI Intern to support business development efforts within Division 4. This role is designed for a student interested in applying data science, Python development, and artificial intelligence to real-world government datasets. The intern will focus on a high-impact project enhancing a public dataset from the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES) using insights from a public AI API.

Responsibilities

Duties of the Data Science and AI Intern will include the following:

• Develop a Python application that integrates a public AI API with a public NCSES dataset.

• Collaborate closely with Lynker's Solution Architect, who will provide technical mentorship and project guidance.

• Document all work, including code, instructions, and setup details, for reproducibility and hand-off.

• Deliver a final demonstration and overview of the project artifacts, to be stored in Lynker’s Google Drive.

• Participate in regular check-ins to report progress and receive feedback.

Qualifications

Qualifications of the Data Science and AI Intern:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with working with APIs.

• Ability to document and communicate technical work clearly.

• Self-motivated and eager to learn new tools and technologies.
