As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our products. Your solutions will transform Staffbase customers into strategic storytellers and help measure impact of their communications. You will drive the development of scalable, robust systems that redefine customer’s experiences.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, build and maintain reliable data pipelines to power new capabilities for our customers
  • Take ownership of large-scale architectural decisions for processing, anonymizing and storing our massive amounts of data
  • Facilitate batch and real-time data processing workflows to fuel data-driven functionality in our product
  • Leverage the capabilities of data orchestration tools to create accurate, performant and resilient datasets
  • Proactively identify opportunities for scalability, observability and reliability improvements
  • Advise on data engineering approaches that balance outcomes, performance and GDPR compliance

What you need to be successful

  • You already gained experience working as a senior Data Engineer, preferably in a product team. This experience is reflected in your tech skill set: 
    • Must-haves: experience working with a data orchestrator, cloud-based architectures, SQL, Python
    • Great-to-haves: Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, experience with data streaming
  • You have experience designing, building and operating data pipelines/ETL
  • You have experience in data warehouse design, with expertise in preparing datasets for production environments
  • You can translate business questions into data engineering requirements and enjoy taking responsibility in high-impact projects
  • Your communication skills are one major reason your teammates value you as a source of knowledge and advocate for all things data engineering
  • You have worked on fast-moving Agile teams
  • You possess strong product-oriented thinking with a deep understanding of customer needs and domain-specific challenges. 
  • You are a mentor and can support junior team members with continued career growth
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
