We’re looking for a member of our Data Science and Analytics team to be responsible for the formulation and application of mathematical and optimization modeling to supply and demand chains and other related business operations for our customers. You’ll collect and analyze customer data on business operations, identify and understand existing or potential challenges within the customer systems, understand the implications of different methodologies that we can use to solve customer problems, and assist in the project decision-making process. Ultimately, the operations research analyst will assist us in the allocation of resources, price and demand planning, production planning and scheduling, procurement, logistics and transportation and other supply chain management disciplines for customer implementations of our B2B SaaS.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting and analyzing data from current customer operation systems to develop data-driven software that makes heavy use of mathematical modeling tools.
- Gathering input from workers, or people with specialized knowledge, within each customer team who can assist in solving operational problems.
- Using statistical analysis to find trends in the customer and market data.
- Building optimization models to find best tradeoffs for a variety of business sales and operations problems.
- Defining project data requirements, gathering and validating information, and applying judgment and statistical tests to devise problem-solving actions.
- Performing tests to ensure the accuracy of the models
- Selecting the right tools and modeling techniques to solve the problem at hand
- Working with a team of services professionals to deliver high-value products in a SaaS environment
- Advising customer leadership teams on solutions and assisting with decision making.
- Some travel to customer sites
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Research (Industrial Engineering) or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience in supply chain modeling in the manufacturing industry REQUIRED.
- Experience in the food industry is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and MS office skills.
- Familiarity with at least one mathematical optimization software
- Proficiency with SQL database REQUIRED
- Knowledgeable in Python and the libraries and modules available for data modeling and analyses.
- Strong proficiency in Python is a plus.
