About the Role

Join Swiss Re’s Data Exchange Solutions team as an Informatica Platform Engineer, where you’ll play a key role in managing and optimizing the Informatica PowerCenter infrastructure platform. You'll ensure high availability, seamless data integration, and efficient operations across a global enterprise landscape. This is a hands-on technical role with opportunities to shape best practices, support business-critical systems, and lead improvements in automation, CI/CD, and platform performance.

About the Team

The Data Exchange Solutions team at Swiss Re is dedicated to enabling reliable, secure, and scalable data exchange across internal and external systems. The team ensures that integration platforms such as Informatica PowerCenter are maintained to the highest standards to support diverse business needs across the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the Informatica PowerCenter platform, ensuring robust operations.
• Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and maintenance cycles.
• Monitor and optimize data integration workflows and platform health.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely support to end users and stakeholders.
• Implement and enforce best practices for platform usage, data integration, and governance.
• Collaborate effectively with Infrastructure engineering and application teams to troubleshoot and deliver robust, performant and cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain and enhance platform interfaces & automations, i.e self-service APIs, platform monitoring, failover and housekeeping written in Perl, Python, PowerShell and bash,
• Maintain high quality user support documentation, standard operating procedures, and change logs.
• Based on in depth understanding of Linux and Windows architecture, monitor, optimize infrastructure resources and platform configuration to support optimal performance and stability.
• Identify opportunities for platform scalability, performance and capability via automation.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers, manage expectations and leverage feedback where feasible to enhance platform usability and capability.

 

About You(Must have)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience as an Informatica Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Knowledge of development using ETL tools like Informatica PowerCenter and exposure to Informatica Cloud (IDMC) and other Informatica tools is a plus.
• Strong background of Infrastructure engineering and platform monitoring.
• Proficiency in automation scripting using Python, PySpark, or APIs.
• Understanding the platform's infrastructure, including servers, networking, and cloud technologies, as well as proficiency in scripting and automation using Shell or Perl.
• Understanding of relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL and their integration with the platform.
• Understanding cybersecurity best practices and how to secure the platform against threats.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working in collaborative and independent environments.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of (Re)insurance or financial services data needs.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar.
• Knowledge of batch orchestration tools like UC4.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
