About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Analytics Consultant to support the Merchant Services organization.

 

The Senior Analytics Consultant will be instrumental in Merchant Services’ continued transformation and our commitment to help customers succeed financially by delivering on our vision and brand promise. This highly visible position reports to the Director of Merchant Services Analytics & Insights and collaborates extensively with leaders across Merchant Services to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations.

 

The successful candidate will work to synthesize data from disparate sources to answer business questions. The role goes beyond simply serving up data and requires someone who can communicate with stakeholders at all levels to tell a story, provide actionable insights and separate the signal from the noise.  Over time, this person will develop into the go-to analytics resource within Merchant Services for one of the following areas – marketing, sales/sales enablement, product, pricing, strategy, operations, and servicing.    

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct analysis to inform a business case to deploy new products or target a specific segment 

  • Perform deep-dives on key KPIs such as conversion, penetration, or attrition

  • Visualize trends in merchant behavior (e.g., transaction volume, activation cycle times)

  • Identify statistically significant differences in performance by industry or segment

  • Partner with business leaders to develop a roadmap of analytics needs  

  • Support data requests for audits and other high visibility activities

  • Operate in adherence with existing procedures, compliance, and risk management policies

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience leading end-to-end analytical projects including conducting analysis, synthesizing findings, developing recommendations, presenting results and recommendations to leadership.

  • SQL, SAS, Python or R programming experience

  • Quantitative analysis experience, including proficiency in statistics and advanced analytics with hypothesis testing, regression analysis and/or machine learning

  • Intellectual curiosity to dig into findings and trends to determine the “why” behind results

  • Experience in the payments processing or credit card industry with a thorough understanding of Merchant Services products and services

  • Ability to project manage multiple simultaneous work efforts; strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; effective in communication across a variety of audiences and constituencies and presenting information in a manner that persuades, educates and enhances understanding at all levels

  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience sifting through customer and operational data, identifying themes, extracting insights, and articulating these insights to stakeholders.

  • Willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to thoroughly understand the nuances of each data source and use that information to inform the best approach to an analysis

  • Advanced Excel and data visualization skills

  • Experience influencing strategic decisions in key facets of the business such as pricing and product, organizational performance and/or sales and service models

  • Proficiency in data storytelling via PowerPoint

  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization

  • Proficiency in influencing peers at all levels of the organization and comfort interacting virtually with team members in different locations

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or social sciences field

Job Expectations:

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Pay Range:

  • San Francisco, California: $100,800.00 – $179,200.00

  • Concord, California: $100,800.00 – $179,200.00
