Title

Manager of Population Health Data Analytics

Contribute to the strategic goals of the Bronson Network and Bronson Healthcare Group as a whole by initiating the development of enhanced, sophisticated analytical tools and systems. The Manager of Population Health Analytics will lead the analytics team responsible for supporting the organization’s decision-making regarding performance and improvement programs within the Bronson Network. This person will support and lead the team in the establishing and performing ongoing assessment of data which supports the transformation to a focus on population health. This includes this position is instrumental in developing a program to identify methods of measuring quality care incorporating best-practice care, outstanding patient experience, and efficient and cost-effective utilization of healthcare resources.

This person will be responsible for managing the team’s existing analytics activities including:

· Working closely with physicians in providing support and education for quality programs

· Collaborating with leaders and staff across the health care environment in support of efforts toward quality

· Support community wide and health system reporting, quality initiatives, and performance improvement strategies that are essential to the clinical and financial success of the Bronson Network

· Writing and maintaining reports and dashboards related to clinical quality and success in value-based care programs

· Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees.

In addition, this person will spearhead the development of analytics systems that:

· That combine clinical and claims data to support our efforts in value-based care

· Help target cost and performance improvement efforts to better succeed in value-based programs

· Help the Bronson Network better see the state of population health in real time in an effort to better care our patients across the whole population

Bachelor’s degree in related field with minimum 5 years healthcare and data analysis experience.

Master’s degree with minimum 3 years’ healthcare and data analysis experience preferred.

·         Experience leading a team across diverse projects (whether as a formal or informal leader)

·         Ability to define and prioritize projects to meet the needs of the departmental strategy

·         Expert knowledge of clinical decision support systems and database design and use.

·         Experience in development of a new program coordinating with utilizing feedback from physicians and key leaders across the system.

·         Conceptual thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into simple, meaningful data reporting.

·         Exceptional computer, analytical and customer service skills, including experience with electronic medical record systems, Epic preferred.

·         Ability to develop and present educational materials to physicians and staff across the health care community.

·         Customer focused work ethic demonstrating ability to excel as a member of collaborative teams.

·         Ability to start and implement new projects and initiatives independently seeking collaboration with appropriate physicians and staff.

·         Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office components is required, experience with statistical tools for data analysis.

·         Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements, medical practice, terminology and incentive policies.

·         Demonstrated ability to perform independent analyses on key organizational, clinical, financial, and operational metrics.

·         Demonstrates effective organizational skills and ability to independently manage multiple complex projects.

·         Proactively continues to educate self to provide quality product and improve professional skills.

·         Desired skills in critical appraisal of literature, evaluating effectiveness of existing clinical methods and procedures.

·         Experience querying data using SQL required

·         Experience with analytical tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI required

The job produces some physical demands.  Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.

·         Demonstrates professional, appropriate, effective written, verbal, non-verbal communication with medical staff, colleagues, vendors, and other departments throughout the continuum of care.

·         Good judgment required relative to sensitive and/or confidential organizational information on quality data and programs.

·         Sensitivity and tact required in interfacing with leaders and care providers throughout the Network and Bronson system.

·         Acknowledges patient’s rights on confidentiality issues, maintains patient confidentiality at all times, and follows HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

·         Participates effectively as a team member in the department, being accountable, helpful and welcoming to all coworkers, providers and patients.

Works with Bronson Network physician leaders and staff and content experts across the country in developing new methods of evaluating and presenting measurements of quality incorporating best-practice care, outstanding patient experience, and efficient and cost-effective utilization of healthcare resources.

Supports the ongoing development of analytics team personnel to succeed in their role in the Bronson Network and in their careers.

Develops processes for collecting, compiling and validating content of data from multiple quality programs internal and external to the Bronson system.

Performs high-level analyses of population health program metrics using sophisticated analytical and statistical tools.

Works with IT in development of scorecard, dashboard and other reporting formats and prepares and delivers reports to leadership and members of Bronson Network and Bronson Healthcare.

Develops reporting interpreting data and delivering actionable information to physicians, leaders, practices, and staff to inform quality improvement efforts with consistent goals across the system.

Works collaboratively with data analytics and quality departments. Develops format data structure and program reports to produce scheduled and ad hoc performance reports

Provides consultation and education on the statistical analysis of data and performance to management and Network committees and members.

Performance measures included but not limited to the following areas: Clinical Quality, Utilization Efficiency, Cost, Medical and Technological infrastructure, Patient Safety and Patient Satisfaction.

Assists in developing detailed operational definitions, technical specifications; data collection plans, sampling strategies, and data verification methodologies. Leads team in development, maintenance and ongoing review of metrics designed to assess performance and monitor progress on system priorities as identified by governance and leadership.

Participates in development of recommendations for updates as appropriate to meet new or developing best practice standards and/or data capture and reporting capabilities

Supports committee process in establishing best practice guidelines based on current literature, guidelines, system values and local context.

Works with team members to provide materials in support of clinical program metrics. Assists Committees and workgroups in metric development including clinical measures for primary care and specialists as well as measures of patient engagement and experience.

Attends Committee meetings as deemed pertinent by network leadership.

Maintains expertise in CMS, HEDIS, and NCQA requirements and related activities.
