This is a permanent employment opportunity with a remuneration between 90,763 and 128,136 including kiwisaver. Starting remuneration will depend on level and duration of experience.


The opportunity

You will be working closely with all parts of Wellington Water that are involved in the asset lifecycle, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring our infrastructure projects understand asset data and information requirements they need to meet, support them to deliver to those requirements, and ensure the seamless transition of that data and information into our enterprise systems. Additionally, you will also:

  • Develop and maintain asset information standards and requirements (aligned with industry standards such as ISO-19650) in close consultation with business users across all stages of the asset lifecycle, and champion their adoption with both Wellington Water teams and partner organisations.
  • Work closely with your team and the wider organisation to develop workplans that prioritise improvements to organisation-wide asset management processes, data and information management practices, and the quality of the asset register.
  • Lead the delivery of both core services and planned project work, including supporting and coaching others in your team to deliver that work with you.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in asset information management practices to asset management initiatives across the organisation and work cross-functionality with those project teams to support the success delivery of those initiatives.


About you

The ideal candidate will have strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills as well as a strong customer focus to complement your ability to build effective peer and working relationships. To be successful you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field in either asset management, data and information management or engineering.
  • 4+ years’ experience in asset-orientated data and information management, including process and data standards development.
  • Experience working within an agile environment and/or in a cross-functional team environment.


Desirable experiences include:

  • Knowledge of infrastructure networks or three waters assets/utilities.
  • Experience or knowledge of asset information management frameworks and practices, including the ISO 19650 (and related) suite of standards.
  • Experience working with asset management, building information modelling (BIM), and/or engineering design software.
  • Experience with analysing and remediating datasets.
