Flexis, formed from the Joint venture between Renault Group, Volvo Group and CMA/CGM in April 2024, is a European mobility solutions OEM based in France. Flexis designs, develops and manufactures a new generation of 100% electric commercial vans and provides fleet management solutions based on a Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture.

The Start Of Production (SOP) of the first Flexis vehicles is planned in April 2026.

We will become the primary provider of electrified last mile delivery services through connected solutions and vehicles for our B2B partners and customers.

We are a team of diverse peers looking to create a future company which will grow to 140+ collaborators over the next six months across 3 launch markets.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Chief Data Officer (CDO) responsible for the overall data strategy, management and utilization within the company. This role will ensure data quality, security and compliance while supporting decision-making and operational processes through data insights.

The CDO will oversee and lead data-driven projects from conception to implementation, ensuring they meet business objectives and are completed within scope, time, and budget. This role requires a deep understanding of data management, advanced analytics, and project management best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex data projects, with a focus on delivering data-driven insights and solutions.

Data Strategy Management : 

  • Define and implement the company’s overall data strategy, aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead data architecture and infrastructure to ensure data consistency, structuration, accessibility, and security in collaboration with the functional and the technical architects
  • Create and maintain frameworks for data analysis, collection, storage, tools and dissemination across the company.
  • Identify resources needed to ensure the execution of the strategy (Data engineer, analyst, scientists…) and ensure the staffing
  • Ensure Data Master management availability, quality and consistency

Data Governance

  • Ensure data quality, compliance, and governance in accordance with regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and security in collaboration with security manager.
  • Lead a data governance committee and ensure best practices are adopted across development & data teams.

Data Science & Analytics

  • Identify and centralize business cases to be covered by the data strategy.
  • Analyze Business needs to define and deploy a Reporting Strategy, identify BI tools needed to cover them
  • Promote the use of data for AI, predictive analytics, and innovation.
  • Include sustainability challenges within the use of data
  • Develop and track KPIs to measure the success of data-driven initiatives, control the usage and sustainability challenges.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Animate the Data community working closely with Data Science / analytics teams of other department to optimize the use of data for business performance
  • Work closely with all the departments of the company to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional data projects to create value throughout the organization.
  • Train and acculturate employees in the use of data and tools

Technology & Innovation Watch

  • Continuously monitor new technologies, tools, and methodologies in data management and analytics.
  • Advise management on technological advancements related to data management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (Master, Engineer, MBA).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role related to data management, data science, or analytics in an automotive context
  • Agile and Scrum methodologies knowledge.
  • Fluent in French & English

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Big Data architecture, structured and non-structured databases.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, etc.) and GCP.
  • Expertise in data governance and implementing data processes.
  • Leadership & Management Skills :
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional team management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior management and stakeholders. Strategic mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • Innovative vision and results oriented.
