Job Description

1. Data source/data product development (including database, data warehouse and data lake implementations) for use by the University community.

2. Management and statistical data analysis and reporting for key University stakeholders/consumers.

3. Development, training, and support for processes and tools used by University community members who are data consumers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in database development, data management, data analysis and reporting, or similar activities.

  • Experience and proficiency with SQL or other relational database languages.

  • Experience and proficiency with object models/object-oriented programming (such as Python, Java, C#) and/or semantic models.

  • Proficiency with using Microsoft Excel for data processing and analysis.

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage projects to completion independently, ability to manage and complete multiple projects with strict deadlines.

  • Effective written communication, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

Preferred Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information technology, management information science, data science, data engineering, statistics, market research, or other field related to data analytics.

  • Experience with PowerBI or a similar business intelligence tool.

  • Experience with Microsoft Access or a similar database access tool.

  • Experience with Workday or another similar application designed around business objects/object modeling.

  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods, statistical modeling, and/or trend analysis.

  • Experience in analytics work in higher education or comparably complex organization.

Classification: Research Analyst Specialist Senior

Job Description

1. Data source/data product development (including database, data warehouse and data lake implementations) for use by the University community.

2. Management and statistical data analysis and reporting for key University stakeholders/consumers.

3.  Development, training, and support for processes and tools used by University community members who are data consumers.

4. Guidance and supervision of the work of colleagues both within the organization unit and across the University.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of current working experience in data analytics, business intelligence or institutional research, including hands-on data analysis experience in a medium or large data warehouse environment; building and maintaining SQL and/or Access queries and reports; performing quality checks and validations of data and reports; and developing and maintaining procedural documentation.

  • Experience in database development, data management, data analysis and reporting, or similar activities.

  • Experience and proficiency with SQL or other relational database languages.

  • Experience and proficiency with object models/object-oriented programming (such as Python, Java, C#) and/or semantic models.

  • Proficiency with using Microsoft Excel for data processing and analysis.

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage projects to completion independently, ability to manage and complete multiple projects with strict deadlines.

  • Effective written communication, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with Workday or another similar application designed around business objects/object modeling.
